I was wondering how many of you cover your sleds during summer storage? I used to for over 30 years, but now I just do my spring storage routine maintanance, and store it in the garage without the cover. I think you get a better air flow through the sled and less chance of rust on parts if you leave the cover off. You have to wash and polish the sleds in the fall anyway.

I keep them in my clamshell trailer with the covers on them. I also throw dryer sheets all around them and plug the exhaust. And a mousetrap with peanut butter on the floor. Never had any rodents so far and the sleds smell nice in the fall!!!!

That's way to much heat for the summer months.... @100 degree + days, you are not doing your computer or electrical component on your sled any favours...

wash, wax, armorall, grease, change oil in spring. put the covers on and a tarp. put them on my open trailer and put it in the corner in my garage. moth balls, dryer sheets and plug all holes with dryer sheets.

Oh ya.. i keep covers on both... something... my garage is used for the summer toys and lots of dust/debris end up literally coating my sled. if your garage is dry and you use it keeping them covered is the thing to do... less cleaning in the fall. if no covers... old bed sheets as above.... or just sneek the spares without the wife seeing!! ;-)

I'm sure it doesn't like sitting out in -40f either but it seems to do just fine.

Cold does not fry electronics. That's why cell phones are not meant to be left in a vehicle in the summer months. But whatever... it's your sled.. Just take your cover off on a hot sunny day and you will see the sweat sitting on the motor. Plus the mice love the heat..

So you have an alternate use for your sled during the summer months (ahaha)!
