Is there a new mapping or improvements between a 2017 and 2018. Are they interchangeable? I noticed that the wiring part number is the same but the ECU is different from 2017 to 2018. I didnt read about any changes or performance gains or driveability improvements between 2017 and 2018. I have the two part numbers below confirmed by the dealer. There is a huge difference in price as well.
8MD-H591A-00-00 2017 $1400.00
8LR-H591A-10-00 2018 $400.00
8MD-H591A-00-00 2017 $1400.00
8LR-H591A-10-00 2018 $400.00

looking at the part number i will tell that there is a difference there is a 10 in the more pricey one that means there was a change .

The 10 seems like a small change compared to the MD - LR change.

the first part of the number represents the model for which part is for the middle of the number means it is a ECU the 00 after means first produced if there is a change in the part the next say that first change is 10 if they change it again after the number will 20. this how there part numbers mean when you look at them.

Does anyone know if the 18 will fit the 17? I wish someone that does programming would take a look. If the tables are the same it would be great

Thank you. I didn't hear about any performance differences. I wish I knew if it was better or anything good

I guess I will have to bite the bullet and buy a 18 and try it. Does anyone know if these ECU's have to be flashed by the dealer or do they come ready to come plug and play? Sorry about all of the questions. I dont want to buy a 400 dollar paper weight.

Most guys flash them anyway.....I would contact Dave, ask him about it first. But i see no reason why not to save the cash and get it flashed and have 270hp for less money.

Mine was not exactly plug and play! I would only buy one if you really needed one. Last year the price was like $1800 for a new one so the price is a whole lot better now.
