All Rear mount turbos have lag, anyone that claims otherwise is numb.

well, it DOES have some lag... but on the apex, I'm suprised how little you notise it, due to the throttle response, but YES, it does have some lag... if you ride much thru the trees, I think I would go front mount...
Yes this is true but the rear mount over time with the snow cooling down the intake charge the hp per psi is higher on a rear mount. :exc:

The lag is so minimal that the only way you can really notice it is when you read about it on the internet, LOL. I made a point of stopping in the fresh snow on the weekend, just so I could punch it and see how much lag, it's pretty minimal, fractions of a second. Maybe I just got lucky, if you are rich it will be groggy. Maybe it's less of an issue on a Mtn sled? :ORC

Drag race... Apex Mtn w/MCxpress and 280 lb rider vs 1000 Cutler M7 and 130 lb rider. From a dead stop across a meadow many times - Cutler by one sled length for first 20 feet, by 300 feet Apex was 3 lengths ahead. At the end of the run - maybe 1000 feet, the Apex was 100 feet ahead. So "yes" the MCxpress has "lag"... it will lose many 20 foot races!!

Ive ridden a few front mounts and they had more lag then mine. And mine has less than zero lag on the button.

hmmm so one could hook up nos just for the intial 1.5 second lag when first punched.
Yes Nos will be my next bolt on!

Okay.......... I'll put in my 2 cents.
TED'S front mount has "so much more" "low end" power off the line vs rear mount. Spot on, cook and run!!!
I would love to take bets, against those who don't believe or haven't seen both styles run, and then collect the cash.
This, coming from a rear mount stage II guy that runs good!!
They don't put car and truck turbo's in the trunk for a reason!
Just look at the length of the plumbing.
