Love the s/c on my Nytro and not interested in a turbo. Anybody know what's out there? Haven't researched it.

I dont think MPI has anything going for a supercharged Viper yet, I may be wrong, but I dont think so.
Not quite sure why you wouldnt want a turbo, but thats your deal and not mine...right on. I havent really heard of any superchargers for the Viper.

With a front mounted turbo I don't think you need a super charger. I have the Hurricane turbo and there is very little lag. I have had a Super Charger on my Apex. Didn't like the noise and the poor fuel mileage.

The belt noise on the charger is definitely noticeable but the immediate pull is just not comparable to a turbo IMO.

Just don't have the top end with the super charger.

Not to piss in anyone's wheaties, but the my MPI turbo Viper has almost zero lag! So just for the sake of conversation, if I'm at a dead stop and give her the berries it takes off and spins the track well before you think you feel any lag it's pulling like crazy! If your going like 50 mph and hit it it takes off awesome! Very very little lag. Pretty decent fuel mileage and mine is really quiet! Sleeper

Thanks for the feedback. What kind of mileage are you getting? I'm getting 14-15 mpg with the supercharger on my nytro xtx. Top end has been fine too - 119 so far on the gps.YamahaTim said:Yamaporn said:The belt noise on the charger is definitely noticeable but the immediate pull is just not comparable to a turbo IMO.

I'm getting around the same. Depends how I ride it though. If I'm with my wife I get around 14-15. If I'm with my ski doo buddies I get around 25 mpg and when I'm with all my other buddies I get around 12-13 maybe. If I'm in the turbo a lot it goes down. And my top speed so far is 111mph and that is not GPS that's just by the speedo. On GPS in 1000-1200' I did 104 mph.

Pulleys won't fit due to structure. It ain't happening for the SC. Turbo is the only option for big gains.

Cool thanks for the info. Sounds like you're happy with the Viper then. Maybe I'll give the Power Surge deal a try with the turbo.

Guess you never saw a supercharged Phazer?

To each his own of course. But I have two boosted Phazers set up same way as far as changed secondary clutch etc. One MCXpress turbo and other MPI Supercharger (just sold turbo one though). And yes what you say is true, but with the SC when you let off and accelerate the MASSIVE torque is quite a rush. The turbo Phazer would lift the skis at half throttle take off but lacked that big block chevy feel on take off. I also had a SC Nytro, the 280hp Nytro SC was unreal almost to the point of being unrideable in the trees. Try to take off and go into lanch mode...lol.
Having ridden and raced dirt bikes the instant response of the SC is my preference. Once again its all what you like.
