has anyone changed there spring out yet. if so, have you bottomed out anymore and what are the setting you are at. is it worth changing??

The so called big boy spring is awsome either for fat guys or real agressive riders!

thanks for the reply, i have one being put in this week, i am one of the fat boys, i need all the help i can on the poor girl :exc:

yes just got back from 600 mile ride, on so so trails, and never bottomed out once. apex er with big boy spring c-clip position #1 cam set to 4 and the spring set in was at 42 mm before the ride. have not checked since i got back but with the ra adjuster set to the middle i beleive it was at #11 the sled was great backed the ra to softer by 5 clicks and what a ride will almost bottom out on the real nastys so for me at 260 lbs i think it was worth the $90.00 - i had a 05 rx-1 with c-clip at #2 and set at cam 6 and it would bottom . hope this info helps

Big boy spring works great for me.I weigh 260 with gear. Set it to 45mm sag and can run the trails on full soft on my GT. When the real nasty 3 footers show up I just crank up the damping to 3/4 and it works great.Ride is as smooth as stock and there is no more bottoming.

"fourload" When you refer to the "Big Boy" spring, which spring is it? GYT-8GD47-00-00 Rate 5.5 or GYT-8GD47-10-00 Rate 7.0.

I weigh 255 with gear and have the stiffest spring in now. It feels great in the bigger bumps but i feel i sacrificed the smoothness in stutter bumps. What setting are you running for rebound??

The RA adjuster works well with both springs. My Attak has a stiff spring, clip position 1, cam position 3, and I have my RA 3 clicks from Full Soft. My Buddy has a Apex with stock spring. His is on clip position 1, Cam position 7 and his RA is set 4 or 5 clicks above middle. Last night riding both sleds on the same 3 mile section of stutters My Attak rode much smoother than his Apex. His had more kick in the back end. I think Viper34 once posted that the RA adjuster is mainly a rebound adjustment? So through stutters "I believe" (larry the cable guy) you need to go soft on the RA.

BADSLED it is the GYT-8GD47-00-00 RATE 5.5.Rebound is set 5 clicks stiffer than stock.
