Need help on a "03 Rx-1. I noticed on startup that all lights and digital readout light up intially, then the tach sweeps followed by a brief re-light of the warning lamp and engine symbol in the digital readout at the same time. Does everyones '03 RX1 briefly light the engine symbol with the warning light right after the tach sweeps? One guy says his doesn't,(just the warning lamp), but I need confirmation.
It's sitting at the dealer now and they think nothing is wrong, but the owners manual says nothing about the engine symbol coming on with the warning light at startup. I have a month left on warranty and don't want to get hung out to dry if something is wrong. Can a few owners check theirs and report back. Thanks in advance

Thanks a RX-1-ton
for the info. on the readout at startup. Very happy with the sled at 800 miles after adding super tips, ecp, evac, and 12mm swaybar and links. Tempted to buy the extended warranty, any advice to get it or not to get it???

RX1-ton ??
Depending on how much! with the 03 it could pay off. I have 6000 miles on mine had to replace the jackshaft bearing at 2300 miles (used the new 04 locking collar) absolutely no other issues other than maintenance. Word has it they have some bad rings in the 03's but i've seen no sign of that yet. if either of these goes on you it would probably be a benefit to have it.
Just my 2 cents

Just poking fun about the weight on the RX-1. I used to ride a 700 sx-r. Can't pound the drifts like I did on that one. I think I'll hold off on the warranty. I'll be real lucky to get 2300 miles in another 3 years if I buy the warranty...I only get about 500 to 900 a year on if lucky. I have the secondary fixed instead of floating, I hear that helps keep the bearing on the jackshaft from walking out.

There no ditch banger thats for sure! Just put on a set of simmons and hit those drifts standing up you'll need the leverage to adjust the mass quickly but you can still pound em
