I just put on the white knuckle GP-1 exhaust and 4 K&N's right off the carbs on to my sled and changed the main jet to 127.5 and moved the clip to the 2nd from the top and i ahve my pilot screw 3/4 turn out. When i went up riding today it was a very rough idle. It would only idle good arouynd 3,400 RPMS. Then it only had a max of 6,000 RPM's, i'm always around 10,000 feet elevation, i was just wondering what you guys think. Do you guys think i can sync the carbs without a manometeror a gauge so i can ride tomorrow?? Or you think its something else?

With the filter kit you should have at least 165 mains and the pilot screws should be out 2 turns.

You also need to sync the carbs after install.

Too much air and you might burn the engine. Stock mains are 135.

I bought the ecp kit from Supertuner, Freddie, and it came with everything. I also added the velocity rings.

The lowest elevation i ride is 10,000 ft. so i figured the 127.5 would be a good choice. Do you think i could sync the carbs with just a vacuum gauge?

Here is the page about jet adjustments from the service manual:

Unless you are riding in the summer, you should probably go to a 130 or 132.5 main jet and check the pilot screw setting. Also, the 1-1/4 turns recommended is IN and not out.

How do the plugs look? They should be a light to medium brown, anything else means something is wrong depending on the color.

lean

you are way to lean with the fillters i would start at 165-160 rase your needls back up as you have leaned them out as well.

Put in a 157.5-160.0, screws out 1 3/4-2.0 out and needles in middle. Sync after making jetting changes.
