Re: LOL
I have a set on my Phazer, no darting and very groovy ski, they are heavier than stock on steering effort for sure. You can see them in my avatar. I really like the ski and they are looking at a new carbide with flat bar in the middle and only carbide outboard to help reduce steering effort. I am running 6" and grinded off about 2" in the middle to see if it improves.
RADNYTROFX said:OK, guys! i rode fast and hard this past monday on my standard nytro. i messed with all the springs. i cranked up the center shock and cranked down the front springs and it is better. the steering is still a bit heavy and darts bad on some trails. these are groomed old forge ny trails. think becasue i am 210lbs and riding hard i might need heavier front springs to help with the roll going into a corner hot. i am hearing that CURVE XS skis are the best for the nytro. with shaper bars, the front end is lite and no darting. i said no darting. i dont want to spend 400 bones for skis but my cat buddie is walking my #*$&@ with his f8. i can ride my rev 600 faster.
has anyone else heard about these new curve xs skis and how good they are?????

The darting will go away! The heavy steering can be cured by tightening the front shock spring

We have worked very closely with Excell Motorsports to derive a solution for the Nytro.
We designed a special shaper bar that Stud Boy manufactures and recommend its use with our skis on the Nytro.
The change is dramatic and much needed as so many people have had concerns from the Nytro's stock handling characteristics.

No skis' or carbides will fix this sled promise. Been there done that, so far stock skis, shimmed rubbers etc all the "tricks" everyone says works.
Tried Doo Pilots no better
Tried Simmons Flex No better
Tried Doo Precision
Tried USI X2's
Tried USI project X
Think 09 front end mods

Ski's help. Proper set up helps a lot more.
Getting used to the way it rides is also an option. It doesn't handle like crap. It handles different. I will line up with anybody stating it handles like sh!t and wipe them with my sh!t handling sled till the cows come home.
Put that in your pipe.

I'll take that bet Meet ya in Gowganda ontario saturday morning we'll go for a ride BTW how many miles did you ride this season? I put 1000 yes 1000 on my nytro before I had to give up on it party to no subframes available.
I have an additional 5500 miles on my xp pretty sure I got out there and played with setup fella. Coming from a person that was more then happy and contributing to this site since 06 I have been around enough. This one was a dissappointment which is why its forsale and yamaha would have to work awful hard to get me back again.
Its one thing to have a problem and fix it, its another to do it in a timely manner and get your guys riding again. Put yourself in my shoes bent frame, no frames all winter, yamaha rep says its to bad to ride what would you say? Oh yeah this sled it great love it I doubt it look at the other side of the coin.

I would like to suggest that all pissing contests be directed though the PM feature. These arguments are pointless, unproductive and degrade the intent of this site.

I'd love to see more pics of where you ride. Seems like a lot of powder and hill climbing?
Anyway just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean all of us have had one. We get that you are bitter against the Nytro, but you're assuming all of us haven't been able to get our sleds to handle great. Mine handles really well right now. And I'm not all that savy in comparison to many for setup. Just takes some time.
Tell YOU what. How bout you come down to Tug Hill this Sunday and we'll show you something to try out that xp on.

Reaper, I can't say for sure that grinding the center will help. We didn't try that approach because we wanted to work with more than 6" of carbide to solve this problem. What we've done is move everything outward. In other words, you would need to grind the center 8" or so out of a 14" carbide to achieve what we've come up with.
We don't have a part number setup yet either. Contact myself or Nick directly and we'll shoot you a price if you want to try a set out. Testing these new bars has only been done on the Nytro. As I describe below, we will want to make a specific application for the Phazer.
There is no doubt that suspension tuning will get you a long way in acquiring a stable and predictable ride on any sled and surely it should be your first step. However, the fact remains that a snowmobile makes a turn or reacts to a condition ultimately based on what’s touching the snow...the track, the studs, the skis. Keep in mind that conventional ski and carbide technology are not necessarily the best application for the Nytro. This is precisely why we've spent countless hours developing and tailoring a new solution. The result normalizes the machines handling over an extremely broad range of conditions and riding styles while you maintain the fighter jet feel under power.

So when do you estimate testing will be complete and available for production? For a small fee, I will test ride them for you!
