I was removing drive bearing tonight and I pulled the entire shaft out of the chain case. Is this normal? Can I replace the bearing and push the shaft back into the chaincase. I have 2009 XTX

Where should I purchase new jackshaft and drive bearings on the internet. I also want to replace oil filter and plugs; any part numbers would be appreciated and good places to purchase.

I ordered the copper donuts.....I cannot get the header strap off....I am debating to compress the pipes or drill the rivets....

I am coming to Yamaha after riding Ski Doo for 10 years. I cannot wait to not have to smell like two cycle.

  • Contact Kevin at Port Yamaha for parts
  • The jackshaft should NOT just pull out of the chain case, Is the end bolt broke off inside the chain-case side? This is not normal.
  • You should be able to get the straps off by applying some heat with a torche before cranking on them or you will round out the Allen heads as well as the Allen heads that hold the mid pipe to the tunnel.
Where are you located? Maybe if you add your location into your profile a TYer will be able to maybe come over and show you a thing or 2

There is a bolt that screws into the drive shaft through the chain case, it holds the gears in place. Look in the end of your drive shaft and look if you see a broke bolt inside. Its a common problem that the shaft bolt breaks, there is a updated bolt. I used a hammer driver to break the exhaust strap bolts free. Worked very well. I got my bearings from All Balls.
