Dont know if this was posted or not but Yamaha has the Dry weight posted for the MTX now - Estimated Dry Weight 544 lbs. / 553 Lbs. (reverse model) Only 45lbs lighter than an 07 RS Vector Mountain SE ? thought it would be better than that :S

Got to love this estimated dry weight. I guess Yamaha Corporation can't afford a scale.

Your right a very cool sled. Went to a sled show in Winnipeg and they had the new Rev on a scale. The best Yamaha can do is ESTIMATE WEIGHT. Don't get me wrong I would buy the Yamaha any day over the Rev but wouldn't it be nice to see Yamaha be honest with everyone about the weight. I'm sure they can afford a scale.

The Nytro is on the DVD on the scales at 576 Wet as I recall or was it some mag's web-site. Whatever, Well publicized for all to see on the net.

What more do you want?

Weights are estimated as these are not production sleds, Same as Doo.

Remember most of them come out heavier than the preproduction models. [All Brands]

I think its a marketing thing. If Yamaha say that a few lbs DRY weight dont matter.. Why put one on a scale?? Just dont make any sence...

Doo sells sleds on the fact that they are the lightest!!! Thats why they have a scale..

I bet the "estimated" dry weight is closer to production sled weight than Doos prototype scale weight ... Wasnt the Phazer estimated dry weight kind of close to produktion sleds??

After riding a 535 lb. dry wieght turboed rx1 I was hoping for alittle less wieght as well,

Trust me, this sled feels WAY lighter then the lightest apex/rx-1 mod I've tried. It feels 100lbs lighter then a stock apex.

All 4 sled makers list dry weights and its marketing B S. By dry they mean dry. No fluids of any kind.
I would like to see all 4 list FULL wet weights for their sleds. Full of gas ready to ride. We dont ride them dry, so why weigh it dry? Maybe its an ego thing and people dont want to admit their sled 75+ lbs heavier when wet.

rideblue, Its because dry weight is the only true weight!
The sled weighs what the dry weight is not what the fluids weigh!
Wet weight is the most BS way to weigh anything. One takes 2 qrts of oil the other takes 3.25 qrts. One takes 7.4 gals of gas the others take 10 gals. Those numbers can be played with, dry weight can not!!!

Hope that helps!
