So when I back into the mancave I have front on wheels and use the stand under bumper. Checking rear suspension after every thaw I always feel my sliders. Checking a week ago I felt, what I thought was a spot 6-8" in front of rear idler wheels that was worn through. Looks like it was just some gouges and I had some miles left on them. Changed out anyway. Interesting the gouges were pretty much the same on both sides. Usually I'll tip on side and check but thought I'll be proactive rather than reactive. Live n learn.
Wear patterns I think the bigger wheels and blueiron's idler add on are in order!!
Also noticed a track "drone" lately while riding 70-90km/h which I though was that spot on sliders. Turns out my inside idler wheels are warped/flat spotted.

Apparently the base plastic is very soft so where there are no inserts, it will wear very quickly. Others have had the inserts fall out and wear down to the rail. Personally, I don't trust them and will continue using my 135mm wheels. Mine lasted over 8k.

I got a a solid 6k on these.
Notice the one hole on the left one. I had to drill and use a bar and hammer as a wedge to get out. Kept stopping/catching on something. Anyway, drilling through it was pretty hard all the way with a 3/8" bit. I should twist the old ones an try to get those inserts to fall out. Or better yet cut it just to see. Be interesting to know. Getting the new ones through the small window they were crackling.
My old 07 still has the clear ones on it and still hanging in there. K's id have to dig through my folder to see when I did them.

Either way 135's is a solid investment!!
Those two front inside idlers should be 135 as well?

Might as well if you have the skid out anyway. Before Excel wheels came along, I used Doo wheels on all the spots not attached to the suspension and I still have them. I now have 135mm on all the locations. I also have the low snow wheel kit in the front curve where I had the most wear there.

which front two? the pair by the shock or the smallerODD BALL sized one on the curve (if the XTX came with those)

Those are the oddballs, ~ 4.25" if I remember right, so 110mm

If memory serves me right, the Manitoba TY ride last year those ones froze up. I remember lifting the rear after a rest stop and noticed little clear rubber stripes on the track. Which lead me to those. They did break free. Pretty sure that's where that weird drone is coming from.

I had one of them just fall off after the bearing blew apart. I take them off once per season, clean and regrease them, like all the other idlers. They spin so fast that those bearings wear out faster. They could have figured a way to put a normal sized idler there.

With my Phazer extended to 144", I am running (6) Excel wheels and (1) pair of Yamaha low snow wheels at the bend. I am at 4,000 miles on a set of cheap aftermarket hyfax with less than 2.0 mm of wear. Just awesome wear. G.B.

I agree. I'm almost thinkin their perfectly level with the track with new sliders. Hence why possibly they freeze up so easy.

2mm, I'm thinking you probably never going to have to change them again. Excel wheels as an over the summer mod for me!!
Your low snows are inside the skid like mine above?

I know, its crazy how well my wheel set up works. No, my Low Snow wheels are mounted on the outside of the rails. Good luck with whatever changes you decide to make. G.B.
