Is there any reviews out on the new Yammy sliders by dupont? 70 bucks Canadian OUCH

I don't think dealers have even received any yet. Looks like the end of December.

I am the fence if they are worth that much or just do the wheels and the cheapos will last much longer, i did about 3000 miles last year, and lots of crappy snow with my BC track and still didn't wear through my slides, they were 99% gone but only in two spots ahead of the rear small wheels and ahead of front inner wheels.

thanks zakre,
I was on the fence about replacing mine...1800 miles with bigger wheels and my thinnest spot is 1/8" to the wear line. after doing my buddies and confirming the wear line, i was tempted to see how far they will go. def gonna do it now. worse comes to worse i do em out in the garage one night with the reverse method...already have the cheapies in stock.

I am hoping these sliders are the answer!

I usually put on around 3500miles a year on hard pack groomed trails...needless to say 4 sets of yami sliders a season is normal. I have tried clipping the whole track. This didnt help with wear; but it did get me an extra 5 mile/hour. I have tried bigger wheels with no change.

I really do hope/beleive that these dupont sliders are the answer. I do think they will wear the clips faster; but should see some major increase in speed.

I heard they were on back order till dec 5th; but in typical yamaha fashion..who dont beleive there is a problem, they only made an order for 1/4 of what they should have...It will likely be dec 2012 when we get them.

My stock hyfax wore to just before the wear line and stayed that way untill I repalced them at over 2800 miles!(a lot of them were rock solid ice) Could have kept running them for many more miles Im sure.
I think to many people are jumping the gun. When replacing them.

I talked yesterday to the Yamaha accessory salesman, at my dealers and he said that they did a test with two Apex XTXs. One with stock sliders and one with the new dupont sliders, the rode both sleds together for almost 1000 miles and then took of the sliders. The stock ones were trashed and the duponts were had almost zero wear. He told me that they are $120, and should last for a long time. I think I'm going to try them, they are alot cheaper than gettting the excell wheel kit for $300.

I might do bigger wheels, doo or polaris, with the new sliders.

I have no doubts that they will last longer and are a better quality hyfax. Im willing to run my stockers another 2500-3000 miles until they prove to be worth the $$

On another note, if they are made of a harder, more slippery material, I doubt they will cause excessive clip wear

Same with me!

I will continue to run graphite slides with reverse it's easy and quick to change out slides if needed. I have a Phazer MTX with no boogie wheels and get a season out of a set of slides. I do mostly bush riding but do scag some thin stuff here and there. I will wait for many real world results and testimonies before spending that much. The biggest concern of mine would be clip wear no word on that yet.
