Just wanted to throw this out there. So I just bought a new 2015 SR Viper STX-DX demo. Cant wait to try this thing out. Anyway I got it home and noticed that there was no heated seat installed on my sled. Also there were missing rivets on the belly pan below the secondary and the exhaust heat shield was missing clips and just hanging there. The sled came from a dealer in SW Ontario. I called Yamaha head office in Toronto and they confirmed there were many sleds sent out without heated seats. He said there was a bulletin sent to all Yamaha dealers to have these heated seats installed before selling them. They either didn't care and sold it to me anyway or didn't get the bulletin. They came clean and are going to fix the rivets and install the seat heater.
Do yourself a favor and INSPECT your new sleds well before taking them home two hours away.

I ordered my 2015 SR viper STX-DX in November of 2014. It also arrived without the heated seat. I let my dealer know and he contacted Yamaha. They sent him the heating element kit to install in the seat. What they did not send was the SS staples to re-attach the seat covering. It took additional time for my dealer to locate these to do the job correctly. Just a FYI

Thanks for the heads up! I'll remind them to use SS staples for sure...

Wow, Dealers can be so different!
My Dealer (Floyd and Dustin at Asselstine's in Blackstock, ON) went as far to call me when they were building mine, to ask where I wanted the switch located so it was to my liking!

Agree dealers can be SO different.

I too had a great experience with my 2015, picked up in fall, got a letter in Dec. that I should bring in my sled for installation of the heated seat, they had a Upholstery shop do the seat..........Great support from RJs in Duluth, MN. I had a Vector with a hand warmer that quit working, family and friends coming, way below zero for highs, called RJs told bring it in at 8 am, he fixed it while I waited.
I have also left a sled on the trailer on a Sunday evening, call Monday morning tell them the issue and they have it ready for me to pick up when I am up the next weekend, can pick up after hours - no riding missed!!!

I feel with service like that I can't afford to go anywhere else.
