I bought an Attak in November. I forgot to have Dealer (which is 90 minutes away) transfer my wiring for electric shield from my 700SRX to the Attak.

I am not mechanically inclined at all to do this myself. :ORC I saw an adaptor in the Yamaha catalog. Is this in place of having the shield directly wired to something in the sled? This would seem like a pretty easy fix to my problem.

I updated my old Yamaha helmet last year to a new HJC and rarely need the heated shield any more but those cold nights leaving the local taverns is when I seem to fog.

You probably saw the heated shield adapter plug that plugs into the optional "cigarette lighter" 12v outlet. SO you would need to install this 12v outlet to use this plug.

I don't know about the Attack but my Apex and RS Venture already has the 12V outlet installed on the sled from the factory. I would think yours would be the same. If you have the 12V outlet then all you would need for your heated shield to function is the adaptor.
I did blow the fuse (located on the throttle side under the hood if I remember correctly) to the adaptor last year when I had my shield plugged into it via the adaptor but some say to increase to the next fuse size. So that is what I have done for this year.

I just bought the adaptor. Make sure you buy the one that already has the plug for your shield to plug into. They make another adaptor that you have to tap into. The one I bought was located towards the back of the 2007 catalog.

I opted to have the dealer install a plug directly connected to the battery. I found my 06 ER that the cigarette lighter adapter comes loose with all the vibration and before you knwo it, your shield freezes over. That became a drag, so when he was preparing my 07 GT, I asked him to hook it to the battery, which he did for no install fee. Sweet huh ?
