JPS,what helix did you have wrapped to 40 degrees with this spring?Thunder products heavy hitters with orange TP spring, TP orange in secondary at 3-1 engagement 2600 works very well for me with TD max 16. very fun trail riding, lot of power and hard pull when ever you want it.

TP 33/35, i ran this whole TP clutching when my Sidewinder was stock with mixed feelings and probably did not spend enough time to dial it in but when i switched to Turbo dynamics Max Spool 16 was questioning my clutching because was reading what every one was saying so before spending more money i called Thunder and made a few changes. those guys are great and made suggestions that ended up working very well on my sled. I run the XS825 belt and it still looks great, 1700 miles same belt clutches are never hot, just warm after 1/2 mile wide open run. I am not sitting on a lake drag racing, i am a trail rider. there may be a clutch set up that is much better for lake racing but what i have is very fun for trail riding. I have no problem on the trail walking any other sled from roll on acceleration except another turbo with a bigger tune.JPS,what helix did you have wrapped to 40 degrees with this spring?

Ya,i like that lower engagement for trails to,my STM pink primary spring brings my power on around 2600 also, and its better on gas milage as well. That's an interesting helix, reverse but close between the two angles, only 2 degrees,so it gets quickly to 35 degrees range, and I imagine it holds rpms very well, only backshifting dwn to 33 and back to 35 so quick, what is full shift rpms wrapped to 40 degrees? Around 9000? How do you like your max 16? Are you on a stock muffler,or modified stock? What have been some of your speeds on 1/2 mile runs? Any GPS readings?TP 33/35, i ran this whole TP clutching when my Sidewinder was stock with mixed feelings and probably did not spend enough time to dial it in but when i switched to Turbo dynamics Max Spool 16 was questioning my clutching because was reading what every one was saying so before spending more money i called Thunder and made a few changes. those guys are great and made suggestions that ended up working very well on my sled. Rpm is 8900 - 9000, i am running stock muffler, that is why i went with Max16. For trail riding this tune is a lot of fun, with some help from Thunder products it was easy to clutch, good on belts and still gets good fuel mileage along with staying quiet. i do have CAI and BOV to go with my set up. I never really checked top speed on gps, top end is always different depending on the conditions your full throttle run is on but i think the biggest # i have seen on the speedo is high 120's.Ya,i like that lower engagement for trails to,my STM pink primary spring brings my power on around 2600 also, and its better on gas milage as well. High 120,s is awesome, you are still on stock muffler, which is nice to the ear, does it seem like the muffler gets super red hot,and smell hot as well?Rpm is 8900 - 9000, i am running stock muffler, that is why i went with Max16. I dont notice any extra heat from my muffler, I did put some additional vents in the lower side covers for air intake and also opened up a few spots in rear of side panels for hot air exit to try to get as much cold air moving through the under hood area as i can. I never messed with clutch offset, guess once in my life i was lucky and it came from factory somewhat close?High 120,s is awesome, you are still on stock muffler, which is nice to the ear, does it seem like the muffler gets super red hot,and smell hot as well?

Ya,if not broke why try and fix it! My right side or exhaust side has always seemed to rub on something hot enough to make it smell like burnt oil or plastic. I have it taped up with heat tape and it still seems to smell hot,on a side note my can-am 800 v-twin does the same thing, smells hot, like burning plastic, and I have addressed this to,with heat tape.I dont notice any extra heat from my muffler, I did put some additional vents in the lower side covers for air intake and also opened up a few spots in rear of side panels for hot air exit to try to get as much cold air moving through the under hood area as i can.
