Hi,

Was out riding this weekend hitting the throttle on and off having a great time in the pow.. Suddenly the yellow light lits and the check engine symbol starts flashing in the display.

I was on full throttle when it shut down and started running at a low rpm.. Then after about 2 seconds the lights went off.. I hit the throttle again and everything seems okay.

Ran it for the rest of the day and it did not occur again..

Funny thing is that my buddy had the exact same thing happen to him the same weekend..

Both our sleds are 08 Nytros, with MCX 180 turbo kits on them.

This has never happened to us before, and we have put about 3500 miles on both our sleds stock, and this is the first year with the turbo on them.

Any ideas? Checked oil level and all seems good.

Thanks!

No codes in the display as far as i could see..

Just the yellow light, and engine light flashing.

Do they show up in the display or do I have to enter diag mode to see them?

Thanks

x2, had this happend to me the other day. a part of my glove got wedged behind the throttle and cause the tors

Did you have the same symptoms? Engine idling at low rpm, yellow light lit, and engine symbol flashing? I think i tried to rev it up while the code was there but nothing happened.. But not 100% sure.

yup one way to see is if you start the sled up and hold the throttle back at the pivot point and try to give it gas to see if you get the same symptom as while you where riding.

The lights flicker and flash so it is easy to miss the code.

x2 on TORS... when activated, won't let the engine rev fast enough to engage the primary.... flashing on display, yellow light on. Check your throttle cable freeplay. If it's too tight or is routed in such a way that the slack gets taken up when you turn the bars, it can activate.

I did try to hold the throttle back at the pivot point and give it gas, but nothing happened. The Sled ran normal and no flashing in the display.
Don't know if i did it wrong.. Seems to be easy as the pictures shows.

If it was the TORS acting up, will it store a fault code that i can read in the diag mode?

As long as that pivot point dosent move TORS should have cut the rmps under engagement and thrown a code.

I took this out of the nytro service manual on the FAQ page, maybe these instruction are better.

Double check the jam nut on the throttle cable thats mounted to the throttle bodies too. I had mine back off loose and eventually fall off!

I would also say that it is probably the tors code. Might I ask, how much slack is in your throttle cable with that riser? Also, were you turning the bars in an extreme direction? If the answer to the first question is tight and second is yes your throttle cable is too short and you need to buy the mountain cable. I had the same problem with my apex when I added the rox riser. Nice thing is until you get around to installing the longer cable you can lower the riser by a 1/2 inch or so and your problem will go away.
