Engine drain plug

Changed oil on the viper today and dropped the drain bolt by the oil filter in the drain pan.when I fished it out there was also a washer lying in the pan.cant remember if there was one on that drain bolt?

Yes there is a brass washer on the drain bolt just like there is a rubber o ring on the oil tank drain bolt, that's why I always buy the oil change kit, 4 quart's of oil, filter, o ring and brass washer all in one box.

That does not look like the brass/copper washer that goes on the engine oil drain bolt. That’s a steel washer. That looks like it’s off of a body panel somewhere.

That's what I thought.was sitting in the oil drain pan.probably from my bolt bin
