I posted a while ago that I did the handwarmer mod and my engine light was flashing . It stopped after I changed the mode on the timer but todya I was zip tieing my time down so I started the sled to make sure everything worked and while warming it up the light was flashing again.

The timer is set correctly so I don't know why this is flashing.
Any ideas

This is the light in the shape of an engine and then the warning light flashes with it.
The sled was warm then but I don't think that the engine light flashes if it is getting hot does it?

ger what is the flash pattern? Does it blink twice then pause for 8 seconds and blink twice again? The pattern of flash lets you know what the problem is.

I had that light flashing when the battery lost most of its charge during the summer. There was enough of a charge to start the sled. I ran the sled for enough time to be worried about overheating and the light still didn't go out.I borrowed the proper low amp charger from my dealer and everything is fine now. The nice thing about the charger is that it tests the battery for voltage drop every half hour after full charge is obtained. If it indicates a problem you remove the battery from the sled and try again. If it stays charged you have a wiring short. If it doesn't hold a charge the battery is toast. There is an issue with these batteries. My dealership has had several fail during summer storage. Don't be too quick to blame your install of the timer.

Thanks , I will go check to see what the pattern is .
Is there a pattern for the battery problem ?

ger check your pattern and match it to one of these. I'd bet it is a short in your grip warmers.

I beleive it does flash when hot. Wildbill is correct, if you get the flash pattern you will know exactly what the problem is.

according to the manual it when hot the temp light and the warning lite should flash.

I stillhavent made it down to my other house to check the patteren yet but thanks for the self check.

Why does this do it only when it is warm , not when I first start it ?

Well if it is the overheat indicator it would only do it when it was hot.

but it is not the overheat indicator , that one has a thermometer on it not he pic of the engine

I think my problem was fixed by charging the battery on this one , thanks for all the tips..

Nope , there are the 3 big lights and then there are some smaller ones below them . I had the triangle warning flashing and the picture of the engine flashing.

SoI found the orange triangle warning flashes for everything to get your attention, low fuel, coolant to cold or hot , or any other problem , then the other light flashes with it to tell you the problem.
