Hey guys, yesterday I got out for my first ride of the season. Sled is full of new boil, new chain case lube, and fresh gas.

Now when I was riding there was no engine light but when I would stop for ten seconds roughly the light would come on and my sled would shut down. All I do, is turn the key off, turn it back on and start it then I could idle all day long if I wanted to.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Riding conditions - 3-5ft of powder

If I was on a packed trail and came to a stop I had no problems at all.

Does anyone know what type of things make the phazer shut right down when the light comes on? I was thinking my rad being filled with snow

I have had this problem to but it only happend once. Just like you I was playing around in very deep powder.

Did you look at your air filter? Some times these machines make lots of steam in powder and it will saturate your air filter and makes it hard for machine to idle coming off throttle/it makes a very rich mixture. Mine did this all the time till I solved the steam issue.

Mine did this last year playing in deep drifts, and I would guess you are overheating. My dealer said they will shut off if you get too hot. I blew a fuse that runs the fan behind the radiator. If you are fine on hardpack, that makes things a little harder to tell. Maybe too much snow built up on the heat exchanger? Does your radiator fan still run? And out of curiosity, have you closed off your tunnel holes? I ordered the rear closeout from Excell, hopefully installing Monday.
