Engine Mounts

Thanks dude...I've been waiting for those....
They do look very beefy ...I don't think it will crack ....
What did you think of the viper ....

This is not the first time a heat exchanger has been used as a structural member, if it's done correctly it will not be an issue.

From what I saw these were the same sleds that I rode for the demo, I loved it then and I still do. I wish the techs had some more answers and they would have had a red ltx se but I guess it will give me something to dream about all summer. Honestly I can say they have some work to do on making it a yamaha and not a cat, I know, told ya so yamacat21. Lol! But the panels did look better than the cat other than the paint chipping on one. After speaking with the tech rep I'm much more confident in the mapping and clutching. I asked him how they don't have the mapping done yet and he said it is far different from the nytro since the exhaust is so drastically changed and the gearing is different. He also told me that the internals of the chain case are all new, not one cat component, chains heavier, and the gears are much heavier.

Well that's cool!!!! Hope he's right and not blowing smoke

The 12 and 13 Cats used the same size HYVO chain as the Apex/Vector/Nytro diference being much longer (100 links verses 68 or 70) so doubt the part about the chain/gears being heavier, and thats not the problem. The problem with the chaincase/reverse is the second set of gears and extra chain for ACs reverse setup uses as well as the auto tensioner.
Its vastly more complex than it needs to be.
Engineers need to learn the basics "grarvity is down and you can't push a rope" and then maybe they wouldn't have brain farts that lead to designs like this.

The front/bulkhead heat exchanger has allways been used for sructural rigidity, Yamaha and Polaris used the heatexchangers under the running boards as structural members and the list goes on.
I doubt it will be a problem, and if it is you have a good warranty.
And Yamaha would much rather spend $10.00 on the production line to do it right than $100.00 to fix it under warranty.

You have a very good point !!!! So just come out and tell me to stop worrying about it... :jump:

If there's one thing my dealer, a cat and yamaha dealer, beat into my head when I was trying to choose it was that yamaha has the best warranty in the industry and if something isn't right they are the first to admit it and fix it. So stop worrying about it! LOL!!!

Awesome pics thanks!

Nytros the Cat does not use a Hyvo chain. Here is a pic Hyvo on top and cat silent chain on bottom. Hyvo is a mod alot of cat guys used. Stock on a Nytro and maybe the Viper?

100% agree. Think of all they have done we dont even know about yet. I think we are going to end up being well rewarded for putting our faith and $ in Yamaha.
