EPS Conversion?

I did the Gse kit a few months ago. It’s a well thought out kit went together very nice. All the components are 12 lbs Can’t wait to try it out. No noticeable slop in the steering

Done. Works fine in the garage, no codes. Just waiting for snow to test if the declining assist functions correctly, but based on the FACT that its driven off the diagnostic port, I believe it will work fine.

If its working in the garage, at speed it is only going to reduce how much assistance it provides. All of the data required is on the Can Bus (diagnostics) so I think you have a very high chance of everything working properly.
Agree, fingers crossed!

I think the GSE kit may have been changed a bit to address some of these concerns. Did you have an early kit?
What was the final dollar amount to do the factory upgrade?
Figure about 1500 from country cat excluding the harness. Not sure about those connectors. I did purchase the harness so mine cost 600ish more, but like I said, I'd try to make my own jumper harness for what it is.

That seems more than reasonable.
You should make a "how to post with pictures and parts list. I bet many people would be interested in upgrading for that price.

With the rear of sled in air and secured did you run the track up to speed and see if assist changes?

with no ski resistance it would be pretty hard to tell. I'll report back when it snows

Here is the parts list. Pretty much everything is on backorder.

The "how to" is very involved. If I do another conversion, I'll take some pics and measurements to post. Sorry guys...

The harness will be different for the 19 and newer sleds than the 17-18 model years due to the different controls on the handlebars.
The 17-18 model year would require a jumper harness to the original harness.

this is correct. And if yours is a 19, you need to make some simple changes to this harness for it to work properly. If we can figure out the right EPS unit connectors and secure them, making a standalone jumper harness would be easier and much cheaper than replacing the whole sled harness. The other option would be to remove the EPS unit female connectors (they look removeable) and just direct wire, which I know is not very elegant but would probably work fine. [EDIT don't try to remove the connectors - they appear to be attached to a circuit board inside the PSU]

The 22 and up model years harness already has the connections on it for those years without EPS factory installed. So no harness needed for those years.
