Just thought I would share some info on one project I'm working on. The intent is to recycle the KYB EPS motors from Apex/Vectors and retrofit them into the Sidewinder. The deltabox EPS units are proven quality components and I've only ever sold (1) since I've been in business. I'm working with Rock @ yamaheater on this project and he is handling the electrical side of the install. So far, the idea looks promising. I have a motor in place on my dad's sidewinder and next up is the mounting brackets to secure the motor to bulkhead.

Myself and Jim Hensel have a pile of the EPS components sitting in our barns, so we should be able to put together a bunch of kits. Even if we run out, this EPS motor is shared among ATV's so I plan to sell kits with out the motors if guys want to source their own used motors on ebay ect.

Thats great news Travis.

That could be a fun addition

I would like to install power steering on my fx nytro. Not running air box. Have k&n filters so have room for motor.

Have you had one on snow yet in proto type form?
I wonder how the "feel" is compared to the newer EPS
I owned an EPS Apex and a 2022 Sidewinder GT. To me, the older Yamaha EPS felt more disconnected from the snow or "mushy". The newer EPS feels transparent, you would not know it had EPS by steering feel, only by effort.
I don't know if the feel was in the motor or what. It is still better than not having EPS
Nice work on developing a complete kit, I bet you sell a bunch. Any idea on price point?

This is excellent news! Can you look into making a kit for Nytro? I have started to research into getting the right components and have the newer vector EPS gage but it's more than I am willing to take on especially with fabricating brackets.

Nytro parts sales have tanked in past few years, so really gets tough to justify development for limited sales. I will certainly keep it mind though.

Nothing on snow yet. Just started on the project this spring. Part of me wanders if the difference in feel was in part due to the abundance of pivots and linkage in the deltabox. The procross is about as direct as it gets for steering linkage.

This guy did his nytro.
Maybe the vector/apex motos could work in this application also.
I understand about part sells dropping off but see lots of nytro's on the trails here in the Midwest.

Hey Travis, I'd be interested in a kit for the first gen Apex's.
