Well I'm going to try the level 2.5 and see how it does. I've done everything else pretty methodically so now it is time so I rang up Ulmer and got things rolling. Time to tempt fate for shipping delays due to weather. Time to test turn around time at Evo. I'm one day away so I shipped UPS ground today. Should beat the weather and give time to ship by Thursday for Friday delivery.

Sled apart should bring awesome snow-I hope. Sounds like it's going to blow like crazy though...

TD you could have just painted it red that's worth 5 mph and cheaper in De-Rusto!!!:hide:

Just kidding I love what the EVO did to mine.

It will be interesting to see the difference since we have the same sleds and have both most of ulmers parts but have taken different paths to achieve a higher rpm, fueling and speed. Can't Waite to hear your results!

Ordered thru Ulmer. Shipped on Monday arrived at Evo Tuesday and back on Wednesday. These guys are as quick as I am with my tuning!

Now if Clark and Marathon counties would get their trails opened up. I'm in the island of gray in the middle...

Not sure what to think about the reflash. Last time out with stock flash and PCFC it was in the 40's and the sled was running 190-210°f and would do 83 mph. from a start if you can it the limiter would babble briefly, overshift a bit and then build. Today low 30's a bit more snow, temps stayed in the 160 range. with the EVO it spikes to 9050 on a launch, runs about the same 8600 range after that and topped out at a whopping 77 mph. I guess I need to see what conditions the next outing brings.

Over rev on launch and low rpm is clutch issue, not picking on you but it is not the flash.

Nothing changed in clutching between the two runs just the ECM as the conditions changed a bit with a bit more snow.

On Sunday we went for a short 25 mi ride. We had 6yr old along so I figured perfect time to break in a new gates belt. I ended up with a helmet in front of me so I really had to watch what I did. A couple times I did crack it and run to to 60 mph. RPM's seem to be pretty consistent with the 8DN which also contradicts most reports of 300 rpm loss. I did not run past about 66 mph according to GPS.

Are you running the Gates belt now? 2-300 rpm loss is what I saw with that belt.

I need to get some more time with the sled, but yes I went with the Gates belt and preliminary results were not much change at all. I now have a relatively fresh 8DN and a fresh Gates 4340 that I can change between.

I'm running the Gates belt too but then I'm too old and too "large" to worry about racing someone......I find the 2.5 flash MUCH "snappier" and I gained right at 1 mpg according to my figures......that was riding on hard, groomed snow........

I kind of had the same snappy impression, but not enough seat time yet.

Buddah, I thought you had the 87 octane tune, the 2.5 is 91 octane to my knowledge.

Buddah has the 87 octane mod with airbox mod and free flowing muffler

So it is the stage 2 , 87 octane silencer tune.
