Excell exhaust

I love the Excell Exhaust, I think it has more snap on the bottom but all these pipes with the low HP numbers gains are not going to set you back in the seat!!! I dont care what the anyone says unless you show me on the Dyno... I have played these games before.

Mr.Sled.
What's your experience been with the sound levels on the Excell? I called Excell and was told that the pipe will be very loud at first, until the packing breaks in - he said that the packing was wraped in plastic. How much did yours quiet down - if at all? Do you think the sound level would be an issue on the trail. Recently, the Wisconsin DNR changed its policy and is ticketing any non-factory exhaust if a sled is loud enough to set it apart from the crowd.

It has changed and its much quieter after the backing broke in, I can tell you how much as I dont have nothing to measure it with. Now I have been riding it in northern WI and have passed the DNR and have not been stopped. It is louder then stock and I know he is working on a quiet core too..

Thanks.
I ordered one today, and he said he was throwing the new quiet core in the box at no charge. Nice.

We should organize a group buy on these if we can get a deal :)

if i could get one for about 30-40% off that price i would have no problem forking out the dough! 500 is rough on the pocket. though it is tempting cuz it looks soo much better, and sounds outstanding. :4STroke:

The Hartman pipe is the EXACT same pipe as the Skins. Well worth the price. The Excell looks nice, but the price is ridiculous. With the Skins, you will gain horsepower and great sound and still have some money in your pocket.

I emailed today and inquired about a group buy for us, 10 of these systems. Pricing being the deciding factor.

I had the Excell pipe. It started loud and pretty much stayed that way. I had to wear earplugs when riding, and my buddies even complained that it was loud. Would be great for the mountains, and in fact I sold it to a guy out west. I replaced it with a Hartman Super Q. No need to wear earplugs now. My sound meter has it at 4 db louder than stock at clutch engagement. I have two phazers and tested them side by side - but this was in the garage so the sound numbers are not real-world outside measurements - I measured at the drivers head position. If I could, I would go with the Ultra Q - closer to stock volume. With the Excell, it ran a little lean off idle and would stumble and sputter a bit - especially when cold. To get the most from this pipe, you should really adjust the EFI fuel map richer. How you do that is up to you. Dealers can make some adjustment - aftermarket electronics are also available. The Hartman-Skinz pipe in the polished finished really does look sharp though.

However, I can predict, that when you take the stock exhaust off, you will absolutely NOT believe how heavy that muffler is. It's so heavy its scary.

Ride what you like, but be aware that some of these pipes are annoyingly loud.
