Is the silencer tolerable or does it have a droan to it? I thought this kit was going to be good. Sounds like most of its performance is mid range trail use.
I know it does not do much for top end.

It does kind of have a trail drown at about 40 to 50 mph, its hard for me to tell because I had K&Ns on before and I dont hear that loud intake noise so I here more exhaust now...LOL
Overall its a real blast in the woods from corner to corner.

I never did any mods to my apex or nytro and was looking for a good exhaust and air box mod to give me a little extra edge.

Was looking for something that I did not a fuel controller for and a edge over some other modified non-turbo machines.

Thank you. Heading up to Minocqua this weekend to get more miles on and for Cruzerfest. Sounds like the setup that I'm looking for.

Anyone else getting complaints or warnings on the noise. I do not think it is much loader than the stock box. But I am riding. Got an earful last weekend while riding. Came into Big Moose on Trail 5. Slowed down and rode the limit into Big Moose Yamaha. Just getting off the sled and I guy comes up reading me the riot act for too loud exhaust.

It really depends upon where you ride. I am not talking specifically about any certain brand of exhaust can but rather loud exhaust cans in general. I have never heard of anyone having issues here in MN unless they are running straight pipes. I have heard that they are much more strict in WI and especially MI. Others may know something about the NY area where you are.
Personally I love the sound of a loud exhaust but I realize that others do not feel the same way. My biggest concerns are not pissing off the land owners that allow our trails to cross their property and not drawing attention from law enforcement. I couldn't care less what the liberal flower sniffing, tree hugging, granola eating, cross country skiers and hikers think!
That being said I am concerned about the MBRP race can that I am running. It was advertised by a fellow TY member as a trail can but it turned out to be a race can. As I said, I think it sounds awesome but my ears ring at the end of the day and I am concerned about it getting me in trouble. I am actually hoping that it will crack like many of the older MBRP cans have so that I can get a warranty replacement can hoping that they will agree to supply the trail version.

Any of you guys run any deep powder since you installed the excell can?
I Want to free up some room/weight in there.
hoping maybe with a smaller can better airflow for cooling and less steam?
my sled steams so bad it ices the backside of windshield
how loud are we talking? Kind of nervous now...maine likes to ticket that offense

I have not. Not sure how to gauge the sound. It's louder then stock.

Tom,
Do your ears ring at the end of a day of riding? My MBRP race can is obviously louder than stock and my ears ring at the end of the day.

No it's not that loud. It's a deeper tone. Not annoying but still loud enough that u can notice it driving at speed. I have to have someone else drive it so I can see how loud it is not on the sled.

I have had Excell exhaust on all my sleds since 2009, I live in NY, mostly trail ride. On an average trail ride I bet I go through 2-3 check points a trip. Only once in 7 years did some cop give me #*$&@, no ticket, but busted my chops.(he had little mans disease) This was on my phazer with an Excell slip on.
It's slightly louder than the stock exhaust, but the tone is a lot deeper/throaty. I rode a Viper at Excells last week with all the goodies on it. It was quite a bit quieter than my nytro. So I would not worry about it.
