Excell's XV7 Cold Air Intake and Silencer

Thank you guys that's what I was looking for. Keep up the good work. Leaving for Cruzerfest in Minocqua and when I come back they will be getting my business.

Any of you guys run any deep powder since you installed the excell can?

I Want to free up some room/weight in there.
hoping maybe with a smaller can better airflow for cooling and less steam?
my sled steams so bad it ices the backside of windshield
how loud are we talking? Kind of nervous now...maine likes to ticket that offense

I got my first real test of deep snow in the yard the other night. Yes. Lots of air ducks for snow to come in. Lots of steam. Got me thinking about a screen kit for the sled. I believe there are several screen makers out there. It has been so long since we have had deep snow here. Forgot what it was like. In the deep stuff you do not hear the Excell can. The more I ride it the sound is not much more than stock. IMO. Kinda like my street bike. I have a two into one exhaust on it. It has a nice rumble to it. Not to loud and not to soft. Can cruise around town without the law on your fender. But it gives some great ponies on the dyno.

This pic was taken at end of a 250mi ride and my ears were not ringing. I came up the back side of the ski hill and it is steeper than the ski side. Ungroomed and I was making believe to be the Hillclimb team. Hard on gas. Wife and kids could hear me on chairlift by halfway up. Rest of skiers could also but all I got from this crowd was compliments and requests to have a ride on sled! I think if this silent sport crowd approved the law should also. No complaints on noise. Love the sound and at 1300mi packing is probably needing a refresh so good to go.

That is awesome! What ski resort were you at?

I have never known of any ski resorts that would allow people to ride sleds on their hills especially when they are open with skiers on the hills. I had thought that riding on their ski hills would have resulted in a trip to jail for sure regardless of how quiet your sled was.

Norway Mtn, MI you don't ride on the ski hills you come up the back of mountain. Sign says snowmobile welcome so I had lunch there.

Mr Sled I called excell and they don't have any trail exhaust made and it would be 2-3 weeks before they are ready. Anybody else carry the exhaust and air box mod that you know of. I have called all around central wisconsin. Thanks and ride safe guy's.

Well there are several other exhaust that work you could pick up... and then maybe look into the K&N Filter or Stingrays Airbox Mod. I guess if he is out then you either wait or work on one of the other mods that are out there.

Just some more ‘positive’ feedback from this kit… Yesterday I went out for a ride with a buddy in the afternoon and was resetting my 'trip 1' to Zero and noticed I have 1800+ mi on this sled. Some good old corner-to-corner-arm-pumping riding with some groomed and small bump trails. I have just under 64g’s with stock weights and have to tell you that I was bouncing off the rev limiter a lot yesterday. I have to add more weight to the stock weights :)

All clutching was cleaned last time out and the 8dn belt is worn just a little over the stock width. Going to add 1g to heel and 1g to tip to slow down launch and keep it 8800 on top. Smiles, and now have 1900+ miles with yesterday being 105mi afternoon riding :)

To be clear, you have the Excell Air box and Exhaust and are still fine tuning. Did you get the clutch change Excell recommends with their kit as well?

Yes, I have both Air Box Intake Kit and Exhaust. Running primary clutching with stock weights, spring and rollers. Just fine tuning as needed.

Just wanted to give a shout out to say how pleased I am with Excell service and products. I have the intake and clutch set up from them. I also have an mbrp can. I got it all installed and was able to try it out this weekend at some races that were just for fun. I ran a completely stock 05 F7 and would run with it by half a ski length. He won one and I won one. He wouldn't pull me on top and I was running any where from 91-93 mph on the speedo. I know how quick and F7 is so I am very happy with my viper and the way it is working.
