I took my stock canister off my 05 to see if they made any changes to the sled, and to see if my White Knuckle exhaust would still work, or if I would need to make any modifications.
1) When raising the tank, and removing the screws out the tank shroud, and rear and side decorative plastic, you will see they lengthened all of the screws, except the 2 that screw into the tank bottom. These 2 screws are brown, instead of black like the rest, so it shouldn't be hard to notice.
2) exhaust clamps are chrome plated, and the exhaust does not have the guard mounted on the exhaust anymore.
3) Exhaust fit perfectly, and was able to install in 45 minutes! (would have been a little shorter, but after bolting the tank down, and screwing some of the side panels, I noticed I didn't put the rubber grommets back in.)
4) Seat seems a little heavier, but I didn't compare the 2 RX1's I have.
5) Even though it is made somewhat of titanium, it still weighs a ton!

NOS-PRO,
By "guard" do you mean the flimsy heat shields (on previous models) rivited on the bottom of the pipes?

airboss - Yes the flimsy heat shield that would vibrate, and come loose, or would get eaten up by the studs. The heat shield would be the one directly rivoted to the 2 pipes under the sled. Now it is wide open.
Impalapower - I fired it up with straight pipes, and it didn't sound good. I have the White Knuckle Performance GP1 system on the 03 for drag racing, and it is LOUD! But the performance, sound, and throttle response I got from the GP1 is awesome. Not as loud as the straight pipes, but loud enough to make your head hurt if not wearing ear protection.
Whoever is running a turbo, the GP1 system is the one you need. The turbo takes most of the bark out of the "crackle" exhaust, and the GP1 muffles it down to a nice throaty sound. Talk to RX Warrior, he loves his, and I believe he has videos of his RX with the exhaust on.

tanglefoots - I did change jetting with the QC1 exhaust for trail. 140 mains do very well, but I put in 147.5's, and it was awesome! Got very good fuel mileage also.
