Re: lol
Or heavier than ever before so the aftermarket exhaust companies can brag about fantastic weight savings...
Anyway, it will be interesting to see who will be the first to offer a proper "EXUP delete kit", because I have a scary feeling that bells, whistles and error codes will flash if it is just unplugged...If you just unplug the EXUP on the streetbikes, you will become very familiar with the term "tach tango"...

lmao.

I believe they are easy to override without having any codes flashing..

Re: lol
On the streetbikes I would say possible to override but not very easy. The best way is normally to use the superbike kit ECU, because the EXUP function is never included in this ECU. However, this is a very expensive solution and I doubt there is going to be a superbike kit ECU available for a snowmobile...Another possibility for the streetbikes is to use plug-in dongs from aftermarket companies, but I have never been really impressed with these. Half of them do not even do the job and the other half is no lighter than just leaving the EXUP motor plugged in but disconnected from the EXUP valve...

My sleds don't need power steering and servo motors on the exhaust or the weight and complexity it adds. The Apex didn't need power steering. It needed to lose 50-lbs so heavy steering was no longer an issue.
I'd bet the power steering alone added $1500 to the price of the Apex and contributed to some of the rise across the entire line-up. It would be nice if the same thing didn't happen to the Nytro in 2012.
I agree. Good advise for Toyota as well.

X2. I just re-did the electrical for the second time cutting out everything that isn't needed to run the sled. There's a ton of stuff you can eliminate.

No problem with the ECU freaking out if there is suddenly not enough load from lights, handwarmers and other shite...?

Can you elaborate?

TORS, tail light/brake light, reverse signal, headlight, and the accessory outlet were all removed and the wires pulled back as far as possible. Pulled the fuse box all the way back and into the nose of the sled, eliminated the relay(1st one in the row of 4) that powers your accessories. I still have hand warmers but that's about it. I have a toggle switch for the hand warmers, toggle switch for the main power, and a little push button for the starter. I bet I've pulled at least 20 ft. of wire out, lol. I'm sure I'll go at it again this summer when I rebuild the sled.

I know we're getting off topic here but do I understand you correctly. You are running with no lights of any kind? Isn't that kind of drastic?

I'm getting a helmet light. I hardly ever ride in the dark and the stock headlight is worthless anyway. The main reason for getting rid of it is that I've shattered two from jumping and I'm tired of buying $100 headlights.

I never had a subframe problem and never want to have one, but i'd like a new design to the subframe, fox floats on the rear skid like the Apex SE, with Float X On the front, Under Tunnel Coolers like mentioned on here, To eliminte the ice build up, all for around 10 bucks! HA HA

If They put Power steering and Other complicated BS on the Nytro and it is not a Option or easily removed I will be riding my 08 for a long time. I would like to see, A bigger tank, More conventional Cooling system, get up into the 150-160 horse range, save the money on Power steering and make the a-arms/sub frame out of 4130 for strength and weight. This is my first winter on my Nytro so I don't have a ton of experience with it yet but I have had it torn down twice so I do know what things I think are poorly designed. I am very happy with the overall design of the sled I just think they have totally dropped the ball on how it was built.
