Anyone ever stop after riding for a while and hear a high pitched noise coming from below the dash.

It hasn't bothered anything yet, and it seems consistent, I've heard it a few times now.

Just wondering what this could be? Rad fan maybe?

Yeah every so often at end of last years riding would hear a noise similar to a car/truck loose fan belt (but not as loud as on a car/truck, if that makes sense). This year I heard it once, shut machine off removed plastics but could not get noise to repeat itself. Fan doesn't seem loose or rubbing. Not enough snow to get out and ride so......

I'm suspecting the fan might be seizing...anyone have that happen ?

at 8:30 the nytro in the video makes exactly the noise I'm talking about.

Hey guy nice video, I have an 08 rtx shorty live in maine and got 5200 total miles on sled, that noise is exactly same as mine does, but I only ride trails, got coolant gauge and ip vent the fan may be seizing but when stopped and hearing noise I can feel airflow out vent and no overheating. I would make an effort to see if noise happens below fan turn on temp or not but there is no snow to ride so maybe some time before I can do so.

Well that makes 3 nytros doing that so, I'm wondering how bad it could possibly be if no one has noticed any issues with it. I'll try to investigate further next time.

Not my video BTW just noticed his was doing it too...

That is a tight belt. If you remove the three small washers on the back of the secondary, your belt will sit a little lower in the clutch giving a little slack and the squeal will go away. After the belt stretches a little you can reinstall the washers.

Any harm leaving it like that ?

Which washers are we talking about? And why would it only do it after riding for a bit?

The guys I ride with all drive 1990 safaris and VKs. There's no embarrassment to be had lol.

I'll probably just leave it, knowing it's just a little tight. Mine isn't anywhere near as loud as in the video anyway. Thanks guys

I would imagine that this will produce heat, and heat in your clutches is not your friend. Do a search, i know this has been discussed many times on here. The last time i changed my belt it was like that, so i removed the washers. After a few weeks i noticed the belt was sitting a lot lower in the secondary so i put them back in and now everything is perfect.

I might still leave it, it must be close to broken in by now, it only squeels a tiny bit when it's warmed up. The belt has about 400 km on it so worst case scenario it wears the belt a tiny bit more.

BTW,
How many spacers do yous have behind your secondary, I only have 1 (sled is second hand) and the guy was a hack.

Lol the guy was a hack. That's funny. I have had my sled apart a #*$&@ tons.i never broke one of those little plastic push clips .never

I bought this thing, the sub frame was bent, the seat torn, the skis cracked, bent spindle, oil tank torn and barely patched up, belly pan replaced with a piece of plastic ty-wrapped up... He was a hack lol.

Because of this I tend to question everything I find. I only have one spacer behind my secondary, up against my jackshaft bearing. I don't know if I should have more.

Ok, that is something different, we are talking about three small bolts on the backside of the secondary that have a single washer on them to space out how narrow the secondary is when it closes.
The spacers you are referring to (i believe) are the larger 1+" washers that are on the jack shaft. I have 3 of them and they are all different sizes. they are there for belt alignment between the primary and secondary.
