I just got word that my supplier shipped my first order of fan reversal harnesses and I should see them in a day or two. Figured I'd designate a thread just for these.

This harness will plug right into the fan connector and main harness. Once installed it reverses the direction of the fan.

Sell price of the harness is $24.

US buyers can now order them in our online store or by contacting us direct.

Canada customers need to contact us direct as store not able to process international orders.

Reversing the fan does the following:

prevents hot air from being blown directly into the air box intake
evacuates hot air from the engine compartment
helps prevent steam from filling engine compartment and fogging up cluster, goggles and helmets etc
helps keep radiator from plugging up with snow

He is correct, I have ran the fan reversed on our red Viper for a year and even on days above freezing it works great. The most important part to me though is making the fan bow out hot air and not blow it directly into the air box opening. This is also a VERY good idea for trail turbo guys to get hot air out from under hood.

One very good side effect of this reversal is no more snow/ice clogged radiator vent opening. I highly recommend.

So do u run the fan backwards even on very cold days ?
 
I would think the fan would not come on at all during very cold days. The water is still cycled through the rad but the fan is just a failsafe if the motor temp rises too high. Think of your car in the winter, fan very rarely comes on. Either way would work well though as when your moving the air is being forced through the rad anyways.

Correct. We found that we no longer have steam issues as in our case it seemed the steam started when the fan did. Fan should only come on when slow or stopped, but it must come on occasionally when riding and not noticed.
 
No offense but I cant see hows this will help anything as the fan will be fighting the air as your driving, I think you are better off putting the fan on a relay switch so you can have it on in low snow conditions. Ive never had an issue and my sled has been turboed for 7000 miles.

Do you have a Viper or an Apex? This problem is only on the Viper setup. The air is sucked in through the radiator and then routed up and out in front of the gauge cluster. It is only a problem when you are sitting still and idling or low speed . I am sure the fan will not defeat the incoming air when you are doing 100 mph but that is not when the problem arises.

Yes I have a Viper if you read my post 7000 miles with a turbo on it. Just doesn't make sense to me its never done on any vehicle that way but to each there own I guess.

I'm not aware of any vehicle that blows hot radiator air right into the intake opening on an airbox. Reversing the fan prevents this from happening.

Since you have turbo, and no longer have the stock airbox reversing fan does not benefit you directly as far as colder intake temps. For Turbo guys, reversing fan would prevent steam from filling engine bay, help keep radiator clear of snow, and also help evacuate heat from under the hood.

Sorry but your post does not say that and your Avatar says Apex xtx and Apex ltx. I agree I have 2 yrs on mine with turbo and have no steam issue. I think it depends where you are located and how much humidity there is.

Watch Yellowknifes videos and he is (or was got rid of the viper) always in a cloud of fog (steam) from the cowling.
