The part number for the heavier spring is 8FU-47489-10-00. They retail for right around $200.

Will this part number work on the Ohlins ele. shock,i am swaping out the stock rear shock from my attak to the shock from the apex gt and fear the spring on the gt Ohlins shock will be to soft for 250 plus lbs. rider who rides very agressive?????Port-Parts said:The part number for the heavier spring is 8FU-47489-10-00. Hey Snowbeast...when we test rode the 2006's we asked Yamaha if this could be done and the answer from them was no due to the geometry of the 136" Mono. Unless something's changed I am not sure but if this is true....buying an ATTAK would be a no brainer. Does anyone else know?

Not sure if you guys know this already but an Electronic Ohlins shock will be offered for the rear of the Attak and Rage models with the Mono 136". I agree that the Apex GT rear shock spring would be too soft for an Attak and I am not sure with the different geometry if that shock would bolt in. I also don't think that the stock style spring will work on an Ohlins shock.
I would wait until fall as Sled pointed out there may be new offerings for springs or the initial set-up on the sled may change. Most are comparing this to the 05's and some comparisons definitely can be made but until we get to ride production 06's we won't know for sure.

Got some updated info on the springs to be offered for 06 for the Mono-Shock skids. They will be sold under the GYT-R brand and retail for $99.95. There will be 3 different springs offered. A style to fit the Apex RTX/ER's, Apex GT, and Attak. Not sure yet on when they will become available but I would expect in the next month or two.

Unless you like tearing apart your skid during the season when you could be riding, this fat #*$&@ would just go ahead and get the $30 spring and do it right away.zr900/650twins said:well, mabye the dealer i'm buying from(for the first time)is wrong, but i as about a heavyer rear spring for my 250lb fat #*$&@.he said try it first ,if i do need,he has h-d spring's from the 05's cheap!! like $30.00 US .....AL...
I used to think it was fun and just part of snowmobiling to tear my machine all apart along the trail or in a motel parking lot but since these 4-strokes come along I don't even carry my tool chest along anymore.
