for the first two minutes running I get only 6 lbs of my 10 ... Two minutes later I get 2 lbs
It's like the engines is being governed to 1/4 throttle.....???
Not tors. Not burning oil. Idle great rev great sounds great.... Other than the zero power.
Any ideas?

bearings in turbo? when you shut it off can you hear the turbo spinning for a few seconds longer? if the seals are good it will not burn oil.

Thanks for the reply tator, much appreciated
The problem is solved.... Ever since last year I have been plagued by a gremlin
Running around in my turbo system... Turns out a two part deal ... First my BOV was leaking under boost
But the big miracle happened once I un installed the turbo smart boost controller... It was malfunctioning
causing a ton of havoc that felt like fuel issues, rich condition flame out etc.
I did have it installed correctly, took out the ball bearing. Just must have gone south but I don't know
how or why, just glad it's finally working like it should.
Ran 97 mph in 600 feet Sunday 7 lbs boost... Turing it up to 12 lbs will be a little more work now.
Thanks to all that have helped me out from advise on black carb springs to carb caps, bov, coils, jet sizing,
AFR gage and numbers readings, headers and octane.......Time to clutch, better call ulmer I hear his kit rocks.

Yes but for now it's gone... I have the BOV, black carb springs, takai plugs and coils so that , for now has cured the flame out.... Mind you at a very high price tag.

I still run my old 03... Down With engine break Down for the moment.
I can hear you on the price tag LOL
I'm also rebuilding my 06 Apex turbo sled With same problem, damaged cylinder Block.
But when running they are a rush, but I have to admit it's a lot easier to plug in a computer to tune boost and fuel.
Glad to hear that once more it was an easy fix at a reasonable cost :)

RXRider,
What got damaged on the Block? Deck Face between cylinders burned away from detonation? I know you are running pretty high boost.

No damage luckily once I changed out the bov for a larger one then disconnected the turbo smart boost
controller .... The engine ran strong and fast... Only thing was I was running on my lowest boost setting at 7 lbs.
But still with all the parts I threw at it chasing the gremlin of it sitting down at WOT have now gone.
How odd can that be? I don't think those two parts would make up the gremlin I had been chasing but
it was either luck or something happened with those two parts..... I just don't know however I will enjoy the power
Turning it back up to 10 lbs for the rest of the season.

Where did you get the black springs from?

Holtzman, they were not cheap @ 70 delivered to Canada 35 for parts and 35 delivery.... Bit of a rip
on the delivery..... They work great though.

Barry

Ghostrider how did you get them shipped to you? The mail system is the cheapest route to go from a part south of the 49th. I get all kinds of parts shipped that way for 10 years, from sleds to tractors parts. Takes 7 to 10 days to get stuff out West for me. First ? I ask, how will you ship to me. If they answer mail I buy from them, if not I go elsewhere.

Mbarryracing was asking RXrider what damage was done to his RX1 engine, not yours.

Holtzman offers one shipping route... No one else makes the same carb springs... there is no option to their product
Nor an option to the delivery. It's pay to play.... Not good business in my books but what ever... I certainly won't seek them out for anything else.
My mistake on the engine failure question.....

I run the blacks, you gotta have them to make the carbs work.
It's a no brainer, as said you gotta pay to play.
Mbarryracing got my answer in a PM :)

Guess I missed the boat on "Black" springs. Been running a TRX1 since 05 season, first heard of it. Never heard anybody in the West talk about it. Will have to look into them. Thanks.

What do the black springs technically do? I know I needed them and I can feel that they work
Just not sure about the chemistry ....
