Nice, always good to see more people doing these projects. If I would ever plan a trip out west, I think I may have to look for a cheaper used track!

Did you just move the front hole straight back, then the rear hole back and down a lil?

Joe

I tried to move everything striaght back based on the machine on level ground and useing a level. But I think I ended up getting the front hole about a 1/2 inch low but it seemed to work good there and I have lots of limiter adjustment so I left it where it was.

Looks good

Have you been able to test ride it with the new approach angle or did you do that right before the reduction gear went out? Later

I got only one ride out of it before reduction implosion. :( It seemed to make a noticable diff but it was only one ride??? F***ING B*LL SH*T!!!!

Hey Tbyrd, thanks for the post. I was hoping you would be doing this mod and telling us about it. I just got my track yesterday. Hope to be doing my own in the next weeks.

What happened with your reduction gear? Do you think it was related to this mod? What did it do to your sled when it went?

How thick is your bracket and what did you make it out of?

What about the front mount hole in the tunnel? Are you off that steel reinforcement the original hole went through? Have you done anything to strengthen up the new mount? You think the tunnel there by itself is sturdy enough to be a mount point?

How's the snow there? You still got riding ahead if you get your sled fixed?

How about the wrp boards. Easy to install? That is another thing on the list. I'm kicking my boots to pieces with these stock boards.

My season ended at the start of March. A real let down.

No, reduction failure was not a result of mod. 07 model was the cause! It was idleing in my yard so hopefully it is not to bad???? Have not taken it apart yet, so diagnosis is a guess? But it was a sudden stopage! :( Front mount hole is still in the doubler, rear bracket is 1/4 inch Aluminum and is mounted to steel original bracket so it's plenty strong.Snow is awsome just got 10 inches over the last few days, should be riding into May but I will not have it fixed by then. I'm down to the polaris wide track and skidoo skandic :( The Wrp boards are awsome, no more beating snow out 5 times a ride. Easy install with a good jig saw or saws all, very worth it!!!!!

Hmm looks good, hopefully I can get my skid moved within the coming weeks...
