This thing is flat out sweet!!! The power steering makes the sled feel like it's not even under you. I've ridden an 800 exec and this feels just as light.

Unlike most I ride my sleds like I stole them from the start. I raced my another 11 apex,2 800etecs, an 800 cat a 900cat ,and a 800 assault

My sled is bone stock with zero miles when I went out today. I have no studs yet. I'm seeing 10000 right out of the box
The sled that gave me the best run was a modded 800 etec. He jumps me hard and I run him back down. This sled is only going to get faster to. The other apex is right there with me. I think mine might be quiker it's hard to tell.

For all the etec hype, all the YouTube chatter the etec isn't impressive. Figure this my sled weighs what 100 pounds more and makes the same power. I run them down and if we go from a roll I stay even and in some cases I go around them

And the std is just fine right :)

Love the SE too but I still think the std Apex has a better overall trail ride.

I totally agree, the 128 skid with the new shock valving is bang on and when conditions change just a few clicks on the adjuster and your good to go.

Dirk, wait for it. Mine really woke up at the 400 mile mark. Last few rides the tack is hitting 10.900. Time to load up those big primary weights. It must be making some good HP to pull the new factory clutching.

We ran our packed powder(not great traction for drag racing) lake all day with my friends 11SE my 06GT , my wife's Vector GT and my friend and his wife's Skidoo 800Etec and 1200 4stroke (Both well broken in.) All of us were studded too but I don't think they made a difference today..
We raced many times from start to top end and the results were always the same. First out of the hole every time was my wife's Vector followed real close by the 1200 Doo. The Etec was real close to the 1200. Us Apexes were spinning last. After about 600 ft we were all about even with the Etec in the lead slightly. As the races progressed the SE would start to leave all of us. Me and the Etec were pretty close until about 110 on my speedo when I could slightly walk away from him. Maybe 1 or 2 mph. The SE checks out from everyone. I would say he is at least 5mph faster than me. Low hp wins short drag races with limited traction and these 11 Apexes have great top end. The 11 Apex is running 10800 now with 1500 miles on the meter. Next week we are going to start tweeking it with similar mods that I have...

About to pull the trigger, plan on buying an SE this week but confused by your remarks. What do you think makes the std Apex a better ride over the SE?

well i have a 2011 apex xtx 440 mi on it . i love the sled but i feel like i got a slow one!!!! :o| i raced dirks new apex with 10 mi on it and i weight 60lbs less then him and he just flat out kicks my butt . and im studded!!! i do not understand.... i had a 2007 attak and that thing would pretty much beat just about anything thats not boosted!!! :die

I feel for the changing trail conditions as a all day snowmobiler, you have more adjustability for the trail. On the SE you only can change the air that is basically the spring. The tunnel adjust and combination of the spring on the standard Apex will give you a better ride over a multitude of trail conditions.... does that make sense?

Yep, does make sense. Guess I will need to give it a bit more thought this week although I kind of had my heart set on going back to a black yamaha after quite a few years..... Don't think you could go wrong with any Apex this year...especially in my case comming off a 2000 SRX.

all you guys with the apex xtxs, what are you getting for top speed? and what is the max rpm? i have 440mi and the best i seen is 105mph and my rpm is only at 10,200 it just wont rev. after 440 mi i thought it would start getting faster! but it has not changed from the first 50 mi. same rpm, same mph. what do you guys think is wrong? thanks for your help....
