Just got back from racing my stock Apex with Boondocker N2O.

You shoulda saw the smile on my face :-o when the first sleds I raced were 2 Mach Z's a MachZ Renegade, and an HO 800.

We raced about 1000 feet and I had 15 sled lengths on the nearest guy!!!

Man I was a happy camper. In fact, 2 of the sleds got me out of the hole by 5 or 6 lengths. These sleds were all pretty much stock, all studded though.

I did line up with some sleds the next day and did have an 800 HO get me by about 5 or 6 lengths. He was set up for lake racing and got me by at least 10 lengths out of the hole. I was catching up but ran out of room. I was able to catch him once at the end.

The third day I just popped out on the lake when 10 other sleds were lined up and ready to go. Smoked all of them !!! Can't even tell you what was in the group. They were not the "race" sleds that were racing the day before. No turbo's or SC's in that group.

I ran into the guys on the Mach Z's at the bar the day after we had raced. Great guys. They told me that they were not feeling too good about their Mach's after that spanking :)

They were great guys though.

Now, I wish I had had my clutch kit installed. It was sitting home on my kitchen counter. I was hitting the rev limiter when racing the 800 HO that I lost to. Maybe I'll get him next time. :die

any F1000's there, speedykirb I think it was, has a story about this on HCS....

There were a couple of F1000's ther on Friday. I only raced a few times on friday and never got the chance to run against them. I did see an orange f1000 keep getting smoked by this Mach Z that was really set up. I didn't want any piece of that sled because he was destroying everyone at that time. I did hear he got smoked by a turbo apex on saturday.

I kept seeing the guy on the orange F1000 screwing around with his boondocker controller every time he got beat...lol

Man, I wish I coulda lined up with him. If he had to "reel" the mach in, he woulda been disappointed if he lined up with me. Most of the machs I raced I beat by about 100 feet...lol

I did see two F1000 line up against this guy on a Mach Z. Maybe someone from canada knows who it is. His sled had Le Place (I think) decals in big letters on his hood. He destroyed those F1000's. And one of them had boondocker.

The may have been 'the FLO' who had the fast sled!!

Anyone have any idea how I can get this Apex to get a better hole shot? Without the NOS, I seem to be spinning way too much while those mach's are lifting the ski's the whole way. I haven't adjusted the control rod. How much will that help. I have 168 studs. I do want to ride it on the trail mostly but sure would like to get it to hook up on the lake.

In fact, I was passing this mach and looked down at my speedo. Speedo said 93 or 94 and his ski's were still off the ground....and I was passing him!!!!

transfer

adjust your control rod/transfer in only takes a minute and then you can change it back when you trail riding.
