Had the first ride with the maxflow and big venom kit.
I like the sound of the maxflow. Not too loud but definitely a deeper tone.
The engagement of the big venom kit is nice and low but I'm still low on rpm. 8500 is the most I can get but the conditions may have a hindered that....10-12 inches of fresh fluffy powder
Last year I tried it on a flat hard packed road and could still only get 8500. I'm Thinking I may have gained from last year but the difference in the snow conditions may be why I'm not seeing a difference in the rpm.
Even though it may be poor conditions for a test, this is what I usually ride in and is the purpose for the kit and can....to gain rpm in powder.
I was thinking of going 6-2 with the secondary spring.
Any thoughts on adjusting weights?

Are you running a big lug track?
I don't have a Venom kit on mine, but I will say that I can't pull the weight that many do. A lot is due to the big lug track.

At last years TY ride I seen 96mph with my XTXs 2.25 track in very poor slushy snow conditions. So its possible to get more out of it.

Sounds like you'll need to start unloading the tip weight if you have any to unload. That and you could try the 6-2 if you like. Terry should be along soon to help.
I have the Ulmer setup and he uses a different helix for the sleds with the big lug tracks to slow the shift and keep RPM up.

May be just the conditions for such a low speed. Last year I could get 84 mph on hard packed. I know it's not impressive but it's ok I guess

I am running BV kit with Maxflow can and 1.6 track on an LTX. I prefer the helix wrapped 6-2 to give me better back shift. If you are low on RPM, you will need to pull a bit of weight from the tips. I am NA and I run 3/4" set screw heel, 3/8" aluminum with one thin washer middle and 3/8" steel with one thin washer in the tip in deep snow and I was running right on the edge of the rev limiter on trails, but good in the deep snow. Not sure what you have for weight, but would be good to use that for reference.
I ran 105 on a plowed road with just a bit more tip weight on a clean plowed road, but I have taller stock gearing. If you get the weight right, you should be able to pull close to your gearing on clean trail (95 mph) with your lower gearing. It will be much less in snow due to the drag and load.

Hey bud
I would definitely lighten the tip weight and run 6-2.
I am betting your weights were setup as:
3/4 allen in heel
3/8 aluminum (silver) in middle
3/8 steel (gold color) with washer in tip.
Because you have the large lug track, take the 3/8 steel (gold color) and washer out of the tip and run the aluminum 3/8 (silver) with 1 thin washer.
I will be running my 2.25 track this weekend, but I have more mods also....especially the EVO stage 4.
Keep us informed bud!

Excellent!!
Thanks guys for the info and advice. I'll try this tonight and test in the am.
Forgot to mention this yesterday but I'm running the bop spring with the big venom kit. Would effect the BV kit and should I switch back to the stock spring?
Thanks again guys!!

No problem bud
Yes, the BOP will bring down the rpms, the stock spring will bring back your rpms. Try the stock primary spring and see if you like the engagement.
We can figure out a setup for you with either spring you run

Perfect.
I get a lower engagement with the bop spring but never actually tried it on the snow. will try the stock spring first and see if it's good on the snow.
