Fitch Fuel Catalyst question

tshelver,

As you so adroitly point out, it was my $$$ and I was just relaying what I observed based upon my personal experience. I didn't really buy the FFC for the Suburban mileage issue but rather for the quality of available gas issue. It was driven more by the sleds than the 'burban. I had my accident Feb 9th last year and spent until almost May on crutches. Never got to summerize my sleds or stabilize gas (which I had ALWAYS done before). I figured that after that much time (12 - 13 wks.) any "damage" was already done. After reading SnowTech's review(s) I also felt that the expense was somewhat minimal for the perceived benefit.

Proceeding in that logic, and not being enough of a mechanic to do everything myself, I dropped the FFC's in the sleds this summer when I was able to get back up there, and then paid a mechanic friend to go completely through all of them this fall, clean float bowls, flush fuel lines, etc. to try to avoid problems. In my mind, it was "cheaper" than just firing them up and hoping for the best.

Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Those mileage figures are without towing. I'll be interested to see when I make a couple of day-trips this winter, how much mileage drops when towing enclosed two-place. On my V-6 Passport(s), it always dropped from 19 - 20 to 12 mpg.

tshelver,
Thanks for bringing some common sense to this subject.

It reminds me of the synthetic oils that make the engine run quieter, and the post saying that synthetic gear lube will make your sled shift into reverse better.

Well, well, well. And I don't mean the story about three holes in the ground. Look who jumps in the "conversation".

Check your e-mail tomorrow evening, eh?
