Does anyone have pictures of their Nytro with the float plate installed? I am looking for a top view to see how much the float plate sticks out in front of the machine.

If you install a float plate, does this area fill up with snow?

yes it picks up snow, does it matter? no.. it picks up snow without it anyway just not as much. if you're worried about 3 lbs of snow then buy an XP. It offers awsome protection and floatation, I love mine. PS your cover won't fit with it installed..

I had/have the Skinz float plate. Filled with snow and caused overheating. Turned it into a skid plate since i had to drill the holes.

So the Skinz Float plate goes over top of the bumper just like the yamaha float plate... except you need the other bumper correct? The yamaha skid plate would just sit between?

not too worried about the weight, more worried about the hassle of always having to dig out the extra area... I know that there will be snow that will collect on the machine but if the skid plate will limit this I may just go that way...

Skinz plate goes over the stock bumper and skid. However the fit to the stock bumper is not tight.

The straps they included for the front bumper mount broke after the float plate filled with ice and deformed. I then installed u bolts in the front to hold it better, that helped the front. I also cut the recommended hole in the bottom of the float plate which let some of the snow out but it still iced up significantly between the float plate and the factory plastic skid plate. On one ride it was to the point that I only had a couple inches between the deformed float plate and the ground....

The nytro has enough torque that it can just pull the front end up out of the snow and I really didn't find the float plate made a huge difference in front end floatation...

Needless to say the float plate is now residing in my garage and I have installed the Roest Racing Skid Plate instead. Much more protection and a much nicer product...

just my 2 cents...

Skinz Plate, Yamaha bumper, Muffin Works A arm protectors

Here is a Skinz flotation plate with the Yamaha aftermarket front bumper. I totally trashed the Yamaha plate and the Skinz is 100% better and traps alot less snow as it mounts much tighter to the bottom of the sled. I am also running our muffin works a-arm protectors. We sold a ton of the protectors this year and had alot of stories come back saying they saved thier sleds from serious damage.

sweet, have to bookmark that for next fall...not going to hit anything sitting in storage all summer...thanks!

I used the flotation plate with my stock bumper. I tried it with the other bumper but I didnot like the looks of it sticking out so far. I put my original bumper on then took a hand held propane torch and heated up the flotation plate and formed it to fit up against the original bumper. Looks and works great. I used the original clips to fasten it to the front bumper.

I like those A-arm protectors... the picture on your website (the blue phazer) is that the ultra plate from yamaha?

Your phazer, you bought the extension bumper from Yamaha and then the Skinz plate fits on that? Is that correct?
