I've got 14,000 miles on my 06. I've never had an engine problem, although lately when starting, it would run rough for a few seconds. I did a cold start the other day, and it was running rough so I cracked the throttle a small amount to increase the RPM. It imediatly died. I tried to start it many times and it would almost start, then stop. I tried starting fluid, but did not help.

My friend, a retired auto mechanic, came over. He said if I held the throttle wide open it would stop gas from flowing, and be in limp mode. We lifted the sled track off the floor (on a chain fall), and the motor started, and the RPM was pretty high so I let go of the throttle. After that it started and ran normally. It still runs rough on a cold start, and I leave it till it clears up. Warm starts are good.

Anyone have this problem, or know how to fix it?

Any codes coming up when its running rough?
When you changed plugs did you "peen" the caps so they don't rattle loose?

Disconnect the fuel pump, clutch side, grey connector by the tank. Start the sled. Let it run till it stops. Reconnect the fuel pump, turn key and let the fuel pump cycle, start the sled and let it warm up..

Add seafoam in the fuel to help clean the injectors. Also, with 14k miles it may be time to check the valves...

Why should start sled in warm garage be a problem?

If the garage is cold and you heat it up quickly, when you start the sled, the air is warm but the air temp sensor in the sled is still cold. It will run really rich until the outside air and the air in the air box equalize.

i think if you change the plugs you should be fine. once you hit the gas while lights on and you give it gas it will foul a plug.once you do this you need to change plugs. had same problem once.

Also I learned that when you turn the key to start keep it turned until it starts. Don't let the key spring back before it starts.
Make sure the battery is good. These won't start without a strong batter in them. They'll turn over a little slower with a weak battery but will flood out and won't start. Been there done that.

Have mine in warm garage. Start it in garage and wait to drive out to lights goes out. Then take it esy the first mile, so engine get varm.
Thanks for answere.
