I have some fouled plugs on my new Attak GT, perhaps from all the garage starting when friends come over.. I know, I know... dumb move on my part. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone recommended a better plug than the NGK plug recommended in the owners manual.

Perhaps would a multi tip plug be better? If so, which one? I just figure that since I'm changing plugs, is there an upgrade?

THanks,
joel

If you just start it up for your friends and don't let it get up to operating temperature you will foul any plug in these sleds. I found this out the hard way. I also have a buddy that had an RX-1, and he had the same problem.

If you have to start them up let them get up to full operating temp. If you do not let them get fully up to temp you will foul the plugs all the time. The CR10EK are a nice small 2-3 HP increase and are fairly inexpensive. Make sure you also get the screw on plug cap terminals as you will need them for an Apex/Attak. They do not come with the plugs standard.

cr 10,s are a colder plug & will foul easier.

IMO: ONLY change the plugs on these things when you ABSOLUTELY have to.

since i quit starting my sled to show my friends, i havent ever fouled a plug since..

Not starting and stoping the engine is KEY to not fouling..(without letting it warm)

You also may have flooded the engine. Just disconnect the fuel pump (gray connector by the gas tank on the clutch side). When you have that disconnected you will notice no sound when you turn the key before starting. Turn the key for a couple cranks to remove any access fuel, reconnect the fuel pump and it should start (possibly with a slight press on the throtle), might take a couple seconds for the fowled cylinders to ignite, but just let it idle for a few min.
This will save you a tremdous amount of time trying to change those pain in the a$$ plugs.....
Good luck.
