Fox Float 3 evol RC2

Yes it is.

Note from Yamaha to dealers:

"The SR Viper R-TX LE will have a tether switch, reinforced running boards and additional bracing for increased chassis rigidity in extremely rough trail conditions. Additionally, the front Fox FLOAT 3 EVOL RC shocks are black and come standard with single speed compression and rebound damping adjustment. However the spec sheet information on this shock is correct."

Still calling the Evol X shocks Evol 3's

My dealer showed this to me on Thursday and I my comment to him was "that would have been of more use in March don't you think?"

That sounds like a nice staring point. Things need to settle/break in and after a couple rides you should be in decent shape.
I think so too and like you say after some break in miles it should get even better

Yes as long as they are like 14RR or better you are going to love that suspension if not I would gladly swap!

It's really confusing to us the consumers when every pictures shows rc2 shocks but the specs say float evol x rc shocks and hi/lo speed compression in the rear suspension which is not true either, and to be honest I know yamaha doesn't care if we feel cheated at all and to me that's the worst part,I've bought a lot of yamaha products over the years, way too many to list and everyone has been great!never any mechanical problems other than a fouled spark plug or two,but this has left a bad taste In my mouth and I hope this sled is so awesome I forget about this crap  thanks for listening to me whine guys I'll buy the first beer in munising ;)!

I got to talk to some corporate Yamaha guys at show yesterday and like I said before from talking to local Rep they do care and they are taking note. I know this doesnt put the shocks on your sled and I dont know all the legal and protocol issues involved but I do know they take pride in there job and are doing what they can. Dont lose the faith.

Lol,If need be,a revalving would take care of any ride issues, but I'm not getting too worried til I ride it but I'll keep your offer in mind, kinda thinking about having the dsc added to the rear any thoughts?i know this contradicts my former statement but just looking into the future

I think if they got the valving right the low speed adjuster is going to be all you will ever want to adjust. Once I got my fronts with Hi/lo on them set all I ever touched was the lo speed compression which you have. Save your money and ride it then decide my bet is you wont need it.

Well that maybe true but the call I got from customer service didn't convey that at all,I got the subject to change without notice and that's that and to me that shows they don't care, but I'm willing to give them a chance and I haven't lost all faith yet,and it's true I'm not a snow cross or cross country racer and probably won't notice the difference or need anymore suspension adjustments than what this sled has already ;)

Right on,already spent enough money on accessories and clutching

That customer service person might have had a bad day or sucks at there job. We all say the wrong things sometimes. The company cares. Try not to let it ruin your fun. Once you are in the zone and flying down the trail you are going to be grinning ear to ear all week long!

Oh yeah no doubt about it,I'm gonna have fun riding it that's for sure, plus it's been fun talking to you and other Ty members and getting it ready for snow to fly,as long as it meets my expectations all will be forgiven ;)!

Oh and the customer service guy was really nice it's the message he relayed from the top brass that bothers me the most, but as you said I'm sure they are talking about it and making sure it doesn't happen again

The previous year they had a shortage of fox float 2 for whatever reason so we got a free upgrade to float 3's. As long as they rely on other vendors for some parts this will happen in some fashion, but it does suck for you guys if they went lower value rather than greater value.

Yeah and if they are producing twice as many as cat used too I guess that could have caused a supply issue too but who knows

I also spoke to a rep today. They do care and he gave me the impression that the "mistake" is still being discussed. He had no idea if any kind of resolution would be arrived at though. I am quite certain that we will never see our shocks swapped for RC2's, but I do think that they will offer some kind of gift card or perhaps another year of warranty. If anyone out there is listening, given a choice I would prefer a gift card.
