After skimming over the last 5 pages of posts you seam to be pretty spiteful over a marketing mistake. No one is forcing you to ride or buy Yamaha. You do have 3 other options, Ski Doo, Polaris, and Artic Cat. Since you stuck it out with Yamaha and took delivery of your sled I can only assume you feel they are the best of the 4.
I doubt A corporate giant like Yamaha Is going to show up on your door step and beg your forgiveness.
Maybe it's time to enhance to inner calm and good will, bury the hatchet and go out and ride. The way the weather patterns are forming up It looks to be an awesome winter. I know you'll love your new sled whatever shocks are bolted to it.
Just my 2 cents.
Happy Winter

I wish you would have just given those shocks a chance TD. Sometimes simpler is better and I have a very good feeling this is one of those times.

My shocks are at Fox Midwest getting converted to what they should have been. I have had absolutely ZERO response from Yamaha so far. Pretty disappointing not even a response. I think the negative exposure may ramp up a bit next month
I filled out my delivery survey. You know the thing that burns me up the most about these stupid surveys? They don't give a rip about satisfaction with the product. They only ask about the dealership experience. I filled out openly and honestly giving my dealer good to excellent marks. I used the final line to blast Yamaha
I did the same as you.

Just so you guys know those surveys are exactly as said. Dealer survey. If any thing other than excellent is on them the dealer will be penalized. None of this was any dealers fault they knew as much or less than we all did.

Your comments appreciated and understood.
I tend to let a lot of things slide, but this one really got under my skin. I spent a lot of time researching and ordered just what I wanted. I looked at all mfrs and came in with an open mind. I ordered a Skidoo and a Cat in Yamaha clothing. I could not get past the hideous linkage on the Polaris rear end especially the heat exchanger/flex hose deal. I ordered 2 machines. His and hers yet both machines that I would enjoy as well. I did early order for the warranty deals etc. I suppose I could have backed out of the Yamaha as I was given an out, but then I'd have to go out and shop/scrounge around and take what I could find in a seller's market.
As for Yamaha making a marketing mistake I seriously doubt that. They went into this knowing full well that they would never deliver. There is no reason that they couldn't have grabbed a set of last years RR shocks for display models.
Skidoo X models spec'd a special shock pkg. These machines delivered with just what Skidoo showed
Polaris spec'd a Walker Evans shocks pkg. These machines delivered with just what Polaris showed
Cat Tucker Hibbert models spec' special shocks. These machines delivered with half of what they showed (fronts correct, rears match ours?)
Yamaha spec'd special shocks. These machines delivered lacking in all 4 positions. They choose to hide behind their disclaimer rather than making a point to inform purchasers that there would be a definite downgrade in what was delivered. This is highly unethical. If the machines had a tag on the shocks stating that they were going to be changed significantly it would have definitely influenced buyers. I may well have done a lesser model and purchased upgrade shocks myself. It also would have meant that the reps would have had to field a lot of questions (work) which I am sure they did not want. Again no reason that they could not have had a set of shocks (even a loose display) showing just what was to be delivered.
