I am trying to decide between the Float X's that came stock on RTX's over the years or the Float 2 Evol R's that are being phased out as the float three's are here now. The obvious difference between the two is the evol's have the second air chamber and rebound but the Float X'S have compression and rebound.
Anybody have any experience with both shocks? I am all ears.
I like adjustability and do ride aggressive but i am leaning towards the evols due to them being a newer design....

if you can get the float x cheap enough you can get the retro-fitted with evol upgrade an have the best of both worlds

My past experience with Float Xs have been very good. Compared to regular Floats, the valving is very good and you can run a higher pressure than normal. But because you have adjustable compression and rebound you can still dial in a nice ride. But because the Xs have adjustable compression and rebound, you CANNOT convert them over to Evols. Trust me, I had looked into it directly with Fox.

Have no experience with the Evols, so I can't comment on those.

Yes, muufin works is right. No evol upgrade for the X. I already looked into that as well. But what i could do to the X version is add some more volume with a nextech or a fett brothers to get some of the float 2 benifits. i will have to check out that angle.

does anyone have experience with the add on extra volume solutions out there?
