From MACH to RTX....no more headaches...

I can't believe you sold your mach Machzed! Do you think you will miss the speed of your Mach? I just got back from a tour in Northern Ontario with my Apex. I put on over 1200 miles and I love my Apex. The only thing I'm not happy with is my handwarmers and my stock ski's. I think the sled darts more than I like. How are the pilots on yours working? I was thinking of putting a set of precision ski's on mine because I can get them real cheap from guys who have gone to pilots. You must be getting alot of flak from the boys on DooTalk for switching. I know I'm not too popular there because of my anti Rotax posts but I've been saying that those engines are ticking time bombs now for over a year and now others like yourself are finding out now. Good luck with your new ride, its not perfect but you wont have to worry about the engine blowing anytime soon!

Precision skis work wonders for these sleds. You can pick them up pretty cheap too!

Some grinding is required on the Precision metal ski shims to make the skis fit on the Yamaha ski spindle.

In addition:

If you grind the front "V" part of Skidoo rubber flat and grind down the rear "V" and leave 1/4" you will have a built in ski shim. You will have more bite on the rear of the carbides and reduce darting even more.

Insert the Skidoo rubber back into the Precision ski slot (shim goes to the rear) and use the Yamaha rubber normally, it will sit on the top of the Skidoo rubber. Connect everything using a Skidoo bolt.

Yamaha and Skidoo bolts are the same diameter however, the Skidoo bolt fits the Precision ski better. Job is done.

This set up works great for me!

Hope this helps! ;)!
