From earlier discussions I've been told the relays are positioned differently from factory so you really need to look at the wire color coding to be sure. The headlight relay is a double throw switch for high and low beams and all the others are single throw. The headlight relay can't be interchanged with the others so there is no confusion there but the other three are interchangable.

Well I stopped by the dealer today and picked up a couple new relays on the way home from work. Then I sat down to see if there was any ideas on this post. And all I have to say is I'm happy that Grizz uses his powers for good and not for evil.
On my sled the fuel relay is the first one closest to the front. When I originally changed it I never looked at the wires, I just changed the third relay and called it a job well done. I never thought that Yamaha would switch around the order of things but now I know. Now I have 3 new relays and all is well.
Thank you Grizz!

SSR
just FYI
It appears there is some scepticism regarding whether the SSR can be used on other than the fuel relay circuit??
Lot's of opinions but no definite answers.
It appears on the 2014's ONLY the fuel relay is a red SSR and the others are still using a mechanical black relay.
Maybe the SSR can't handle the load of the other circuits??

I bought 2 new SSD relays, 2 you ask, well 1 for Fuel Pump, 1 for the Load. I don't want my fan coming on, I want it to be warming up my sled, by the time its nice and toasty the fan relay should be thawed out and come on. Wonder if the Yamaha engineers think this way .

2013 Nytro XTX 1.25 Fuel Relay Issue
I had the same 43 code this past weekend. Rode Saturday (10F), then put in trailer. Got up Sunday to ride again. Oh sheet, code 43 no fuel pump priming, no start, no go...A bit of snow packed around the four relays. Got looking into this issue--Monday night, got the heat gun out, "thawed" stuff out, tore hands up getting to #3 relay (according to diagrams on this site-part #8HG-81950-09-00) and removed relay (don't drop it taking it off or putting it on-unless you want to take add'l front side panels off). Put it back on and bam! Started right up. Thought the new red solid state relay (8GN-81950-00-00 on 2014 fiche, but listed as relay #4 or the rear one)would do the trick. Talked to Port Yamaha (great guys-excellent service), was told I had to make sure there were 3 red and 1 blue wire, this matches previous post by Grizz, however went out an hour ago to verify what I think is the fuel relay (the one I thawed in my hands a day ago) and the wires are red, black, orange and white....WTFO? Any clues? My sled did fire right up again tonight...I read somewhere that someone poured hot water on it while at the hotel. Should we pee on it when we're in the middle of nowhere at 3am(Superior lakeshore)?

UPDATE: Reached out to Yamaha Tech Support-The new RED relay (8GN-81950-00-00, Ref #27 in 2014 fiche) will replace all three relays (except headlight). The Red Solid State Relays were designed to withstand the colder temperatures. You should not have to replace all three because as earlier stated, by Grizz I believe, the fuel relay is the only one that requires pre-ignition power....Thanks Grizz and Kevin at Port Yamaha....

OK, I need help on this one and don't know if it is the same relay you guys are talking about.
My 08 Nytro runs great, never has a problem until the cold days at initial start up. I bought a brand new battery cause I thought that was the problem....but it's not.
When I turn the sled on, I let the pump kick in and quit...this lets me know I have pressure in the line. I try to engage the starter and it just dims the gauge. If I try to engage the starter many times, I will in time hear a clicking. WHen I hear that, I turn the sled off and back on. After the pump cycles and quits, I engage the starter and 90% of the time it will turn over. I have to do this everytime its cold and the one time it sat inside (50°F) I didn't think I would have a problem, but again...it wouldn't do anything when I try to engage the starter.
Key switch? starter? solonoid?
I figured a key switch would just be at anytime, any temp....but after riding it and it's warm, no problems. Usually always on the first start up.

Yup, did it again when I went to load it in the trailer for this weekend's ty ride. I took the panel off and tapped on it when it wouldn't start. It clicked right after that and started to turn over.
Oh well, I have a spare battery for something now.....
Will replace when I get back from the TY ride.
