frozen steering

SkidPlate helps along with the update but you will still need to seal the gaps.Screen in front of radiator helps also.

We drilled holes in the edges of the plastic and zipped tied them together in order to stop snow from pushing the silicone in as some of the gaps were rather wide , then siliconed every crack and cranny!! Also did the screen in front of the rad! Seemed to work, no frozen steering and nary a snowflake in the airbox!! Going to order the Skinz float plate as well and then we should be set! Many thanks guys, very much appreciate all the help! ;)!

you might want to play with your front end and see if your ball joints are bad. as i have a feeling this is what your having issues with, it'll steer real hard like its frozen im getting my 3rd set as we speak, i drove my sled up a guy wire so i could see what was wrong it wasnt pretty seeing the front end sloppy like that. check it out before it checks you out.

I changed to the presicion ski from an older doodoo and noticed play in the ball joints, didn't think that it would cause such a problem. Also i found that in hard pack conditions I couldn't keep it in a straight line, on the hammer or not. It also seemed really twitchy and wanted to tip over, Im thinking it might be the tall ride, and needs to be lowered. I'm going to ask this, does tightening the limiter strap help this issue?

thanks for any help.

you need new ball joints imo. and yes i hear that'll help

the problem will happen when you need to turn and cant, get it fixed.
