Alright, maybe I'm just bitching, but I have now bought and paid for 2 brand new Yamahas in the last 2 seasons ('06 & '08). I spring ordered my Nytro 40th RTX, and have it at home now, but with the incentives from Yamaha ($600), I can't seem to find anything that they actually can ship and is not backordered!!
I had to compromise with my Apex and get a different riding suit, boots and gloves because everything I really wanted was backordered, and now I have the same problem getting my wife the stuff she wants for the Nytro! She has chosen 2 different coats, glasses, gloves, bibs & boots, and the only thing she got was the gloves, just because they had a pair on the shelf. It seems that their cataloge is just for show, and they really don't offer as much as they have listed!
Is this common for Yamaha? I tried to buy very early to avoid this, but the catalogs didn't come out in time to beat the "backorder dilema"!
I'm still waiting on a set of Yamaha thermals that I have had paid for since '06, and they keep saying that its still a valid part number and they will ship as son as they can. If I put on about 40 punds I could get the next size available within 2 days!!??

Just my $.02 but the reason alot of stuff is probably backordered is because the dealers that are doing the snow shows (Big East, Novi, etc....)are/have been buying everything up. Maybe it is possible to use the Yamaha dollars at a Yamaha dealer at one of the shows? Just a thought.....

Try contacting Kevin fron Port Yamaha (www.portyamaha.com), maybe there is something he can do for you. If anyone could help you, it would be him. I think he is out of town at the Novi show as of yesterday or today though.

I've gotten the response from Iowa CIty Motorsports that the big dealers do usually place very large stocking orders, adn he said he'd try to barter with one of them, but he said I could also just credit my rebate ammount to him an duse it for anything else. (Castle, Arctic Wear, etc..)
I think I did that last year because I got Castle boots, and an HJC helmet. I may end up doing that, but I'd rather sport the Yammy gear!

I sure there is combination of this and that the stuff is new. Really the season hasn't started yet. I don't think this is right, but I have the same issue with a lot of my FX Nytro accessories, I'm still waiting on my Skid plate right now.

im waiting for 08 Team gloves..

back ordered..

Been threw this many times.. probobly why i switched to FXR clothing.. no problems getting that stuff..

I couldn't even get a cover for my sled! I realise this is a first year sled, but my wife is looking for clothing that has been around for a few seasons at least.
We also noticed that some items are on the web only, and some are only in the calologe, but both of the items I noticed that with are backordered also? You would think that after a few seasons of this, and with as big as the 4-stroke thing is, they wouls at least want to have more than enough gear in stock!
They should take a hint from Harley Davidson. There are far more people out there who can buy a jacket, shirt, boots etc..., but who can't afford an 11k sled??? Look at the merchandising that Harley produces.. There is definately no shortage of that!

honetly, i think its for the better..

Im not that impressed with the yamaha clothing.. its dull and not that attractive.. Im soo bored with the blue, red and black/white that yamaha has continued to use over the past 10 years..

Cat has the best looking apparel by far and tons of it..

Part of the problem is Iowa City didn't and doesn't want sleds. The owner told me that himself. It shows when they have 2 new venoms and a viper s(last time I was there) sitting on the floor and won't deal on them. They have a million dollars in motorcycle and atv attire, but a few hundred ucks worth of sled stuff. If Port can't help try preferred powersports of syracuse NY. They stock up big time for the big east show, and then discount everything. Maybe they can transfer the stuff or just plain get it for you. Maxdlx
