Fuel overflow?

Can any one tell me if the fuel tank overflow tube is the one that goes into the left foothold? I want to reroute it so I can pull the filler tube when filling up? If I reroute it up to the handle bars will it spew out when the tank is full and going over rough terrain?

The tube goes to the right of the tank, circles back and down to above the left floor board. There will be a nipple that it plugs into. I removed the filler tube and left the overflow hose alone and haven't had a problem yet.

It looks like the tube connects to a nipple on the top of the foot hold. Did you leave it connected? Or did you disconnect and just leave it hanging there?
