I have decided to install a fuel shut off valve on my 05 RX-1 after hearing all the stories about trailering with a full tank. My question is where do I get them and where do I install them? Can I get them through the dealer, and where in the fuel lines do I install them?

There is a couple threads with great pics. Do a search and they should come up.
The dealer sells shutoffs as does most auto stores. I got mine from Napa.

While you are cutting rubber lines, you might as well install a coolant shut-off valve to the carb heaters too. I used a Ski-Doo valve on this line (expensive thought).
I thougt the carb heaters were automatic?(shut off after certain temp) is this wrong? Jay

xc8j, the electric carb heaters shut off after a set temp. the shutoffs are for the coolant.
So the electric heaters don't shut off the coolant? Talk to me about coolant shut offs! Jay

The carbs are heated 2 ways; Electrically for instant heat and by engine coolant. Once the engine gets to temp the electric heaters are turned off while the coolant is still pumped. Many have installed a shutoff on the coolant line on the left side as it leaves the carbs. This helps out performance a little on very warm days. It also helps warm start conditions.xc8j said:So the electric heaters don't shut off the coolant? Talk to me about coolant shut offs! Jay
