FX Nytro Inside Look!
Disclaimer: This is a preproduction unit and things are subject to change.
Here at Ulmer Racing we were given the oppurtunity to take an inside look at the new FX Nytro! Yamaha did a great job at giving us more room and easier access to the normal every day parts! By removing the three (3) main body panels you can get to any of the general maintenance items on the sled without any hassles!
Hood Removal:
To remove the hood there are a total of four (4) ¼ turn dsuz fasteners that must be loosened allowing removal of the hood. There are two tabs that must slide out from under the gauge cluster allowing removal of the hood. After removing the hood there is access to the coolant level, overflow bottle, storage, and spare belt area of the sled.
Chain case Side Panel Removal:
To remove the side panel there are a total of five (5) ¼ turn dsuz fasteners that must be loosened allowing the removal of the side panel. Also on the front of side panel is two tabs that must interlock correctly with the belly pan before the side panel can be fully installed onto the sled after removal. This is also true for the rear of the side panel by the gas tank with a tab, which must be latched as well. After removing the side panel you are allowed access to the battery, chain case fluid, and engine oil.
Clutch Side Panel Removal:
To remove the side panel there are a total of five (5) ¼ turn dsuz fasteners that must be loosened allowing the removal of the side panel. Also on the front of side panel is two tabs that must interlock correctly with the belly pan before the side panel can be fully installed onto the sled after removal. This is also true for the rear of the side panel by the gas tank with a tab, which must be latched as well. After removing the side panel you are allowed access to the primary clutch, secondary clutch, and spark plugs.
Lower Panel Removal:
***Sorry guys, I forgot to take a picture of this area.***
To remove the bottom panel you must remove the fasteners and slide the panel off. Once the lower panel is removed you have access to the oil filter and the crank case drain plug as well.

The oil filter is very easy to get to. You simply remove the lower inspection panel and it is easily accessed right from the bottom. It is much simpler than the RX-1 or Apex models.

Nice post and pics. I like how it looks w/o the hood on it so maybe a black hood would look great!!

You mean we can get to the spark plugs without taking the seat and fuel tank off???!?!?!?
That was a nice touch...
I also like the fact that you no longer need a tool to check the oil!!!!
Nice post!
Thanks!

I was just refering to one of the pictures above, not trying to answer your question...
I do not know what type spark plugs it uses, heck, I don't know anything about the new sled...

I just hope they put the bigger engine on a Venture Lite, or redesign the RS Venture to the new riding position.
I can't imagine how much fun it would be to have 50 mor hp on my sled...
I agree with you though, I really believe Yamaha is trying listen and put out products that the consumers want. Good on them & good for us!
